Steve Bailey, pinch harmonics

I'm wondering if anyone knows if steve uses pinch harmonics, or not, if so does anyone know how to do it, Sheehan has a really difficult way of doing it, but i think Bailey's doing it a different way.

like around 42 in this vid

Indeed. If ya look closely, he flattens out his index finger to create positions/harmonic points from the fingered note. He then uses the other fingers to pluck behind it, creating the harmonic. It's no easy task, though. It's hard to guestimate the octave positions beyond the fingerboard.

Awesome vid, but those are definitely two of the goofiest mofos on the planet. Yes I'm jealous.

Steve Bailey plays artificial harmonics the way most classical guitarists do: Instead of using his thumb for touching the node ala Jaco or Sheehan, he uses his index finger. It's the only difference, but it can be extremely difficult to get used to that if you already play artificial harmonics the other way.

All I know is that I need to develop the "ballsitic thumb" that Vic shows.

From the same jam session...
