Anyone else catch Stevie's current tour? I went to the show at the Air Canada Centre on Toronto last night. I'm still speechless. Stevie and the band played for 3 hours straight. Nate and the band killed of course. No let up at all and I heard all the tunes I wanted to hear and more.

Stevie still sounds as good as he did 30 years ago. For such a large venue it felt incredibly intimate. The crowd was so into it the whole night. I think many of us shed a tear at some of the memories attached to so many of the tunes. The band jammed on things like We Want the Funk and other 'standards'. Stevie threw in a country version of Signed, Sealed, Delivered and then did bits of some country classics a la Stevie. Oh, and Stevie blew over a few choruses of Giant Steps.

If you don't have a ticket get one. It'll cost you but you will see the best 3 hour show you will ever see. Truly a life affirming experience for me.

Cheers

I saw it, you're right, it was an amazing show, quite possibly the best I've seen. He didn't play Giant Steps at my concert, but he played on his harmonica "They'll be no sunshine when she's gone" and he did "We Want The Funk" and "What's Goin' On?". He played all the classics, and his voice is still 100%. I saw him in a smaller venue (Borgata) in Atlantic City.

He is also a pretty funny guy in my opinion, he would joke around with the crowd and he told us the story behind the writing of "My Cherie Amour". I also enjoyed his whole new melody and counterpoint/ bass that he did with the crowd on "Ribbon in the Sky".

The band was killin' the entire time, their groove was tight and he closed with "Another Star"

I saw Stevie many years ago at the beginning of his "In Square Circle" tour. I actually didn't know if I'd like Stevie Wonder live but boy was I wrong! His band was fabulous and warmed up for him before he took the stage. He played "Alfie" on the harmonica and it was incredible. As awesome as his band is, they're relegated to being side men once he is on stage. His talent is quite huge.

Bump.

I wasn't sure if I was going to pop $165 per ticket (if I can get them) for the July 4th show in Reno but now I'm sold.

Thanks guys.

I know what basses and amps Nate Watts has been using, but does anyone know what keyboard synth he uses? I saw him using one on a TV show last night, wondered if anyone knew wht he uses.

Trying to get an idea of what keyboard synths people are using, tempted to start using one for a couple things.

He's endorsing Hartke and was using that set up on Toronto when I saw him.
