Hopefully that's changing, though.

As for posting about shoes... I think we were talking about sandals on the last thread.
SF has a good scene for doom, doesn't it?

Pretty good scene, yeah. Right now I'm kinda bummed because there are shows to go to and I have no money.

Corey - Yeah, I got into Bottom after they already split. Is Billy Anderson from SF? I dig most of the stuff he's had a hand in recording.
I don't know if he still is, but he was based out of the SF bay area at some point.

Laudanum is definitely good. They're sort of loosely within the web of a lot of other good bands from that area too, that I actually have seen live over the years like Brainoil, Cruevo, Tarrakian and a bunch of others. Some excellent female musicians in the mix with some of them as well.

Mendozza is another to add to the list of female drummers. They do a solid cover of Dragonaut and Fairies Wear Boots.

First Melbourne gig tonight, can't find my M80. Dopesmoker cranked so loud my bullet belt rattled off my desk. Not even 10 in the morning and skunked up good.

Technique/Weight question for the DoomRoom - Fairly sure my Warlock is Basswood or some other light wood and it doesn't anchor to me very well when we get the tremolo picking sections happening in songs. (I'm a convert from the 6 stringer but kept the pick) Any suggestions aside from trying to lock the bass under my arm or somehow pinning it to myself to reduce movement? New bass down the track maybe?

JoeV - boo urns to Carvin. Warmoth it is.

Fun shotgun factoids abound up in here.

Doom stuff - Eagle Twin is crushing me right now.
Yeah... Warmoth. They didn't offer chambered P basses at the time I was looking...don't know if they do yet or not.

The new Eagle Twin is so, so, so, good. ugh. That band is pure awesome. My drummer introduced them to me last year.

These guys have that botch style vocal with crushing riffs:

However girl drummers seem REALLY uncommon. There's a killer local sludge metal band called Vulture that has a female drummer and she absolutely slays.
Black angels from Austin Tx badass chick drummer AND bassist.

Vulture rips! Thanks Laz! Thats kinda what most of the bands around here are similar to.

We are a bit more motorhead/spacey doom. More '70s. So, something different! There are a couple other bands around here we really want to play with. Low Gravity, Matterhorn (once they regroup, if they keep the name), Space in Time (organ!)
http://www.facebook.com/#!/spaceinti...app_2405167945
In The Company Of Serpents, Glass Hits and maybe a few other Denver bands that I don't yet know. Only problem I see is talking them into coming here or getting a Denver Venue to give us a shot without a decent recording.

Of course, Thombo is making the trip! Thanks again!

Prop between the leg V trick??? Not sure how comfy that is. Or one of those neoprene straps. They don't let it slide around on your shoulder.

Sometimes I stick my foot up on my volume pedal or a monitor for better stability when playing things that feel a bit awkward.

Dimmu Borgir... This guy is pretty much why I bought my first warlock, laugh if you want :P Saw a video and thought it was cool. Dunno if it'd help or whatever but he looked cool on stage anyway lol. Check out a live vid they have a couple fast picking parts here and there.

The old tuners were hella shot. The new tuners are nice but move a little too easy for me. I just super picky i guess.
