But you really shouldn't use a pedal like a TU-2 to do intonation. It just isn't accurate enough. But apparently that Sonic Research one is much more accurate, so it would be appropriate. Most respectable techs will use a actual high end strobe tuner to intonate. | I think if that's what you have it will get the job done if your on a budget. I bought a peterson strobo-flip some time back for better setups, it works ok. It's a slight learning curve from using a tu-2 for so long. |

Btw love reaper too, might be able to suggest something more specialized though depending on what you're doing.

What happened to that super-awesome Rat King you had a while ago? |
Hi, welcome! I agree with what's already been said, Reaper is a very good option for a free DAW. Good quality, relatively easy to use, plenty of decent VST based plug-ins available free or cheap. Quote:

The Korg Pitchblack is my second favorite, big easy to read display, and tracks a low F without using harmonics, no other tuners I've owed do that...even the sonice reseach...again sometimes too acurate | I use the Korg Pitchblack too and I`m completely happy with it. I tune down to C with no problem in tracking.

I've downloaded an evaluation version of Reaper but I think I'll try to make use of it on a later project.

All sounded great especially the dusty hill basses. Also played a uke bass… ridiculous…ly awesome. It sounded HUGE. Sounded like a double bass. Seriously, if you guys get a chance play one do it. |

If it were the walnut stain looking type...I might asking you for their phone number right now. honestly, I have never played one, I just love the way they look. I could make it sound good, for that level of mojojojo.

I can totally see my next bass being a custom P from Warmoth.
Jazz neck, blocks/maple. red p black guard. cream pickup covers. bridge cover. mmmm. thanks for the gas.
It would have to be under 8lbs though. Closer to 7, the better.

one of my band-friends has a black 70s P with lindy fralin pickups in it - godlike P tone. it used to have EMGs which were quite unpleasant. |

After a ton of testing and A/B'ing with my other Rats I found that even though the added features were cool I just used my other two Rats more and it didn't make sense to have 3 rats. Now that I'm employed again one he first things I did was order the demon king (custom color, clean blend, and had the footswitch order switched) since I liked that RK so much I wanted some of the same features but with a different sound so the DK seemed like a good option for it. I'm stoked for it. |

I don't really have high hopes but we'll see. Also I'll be getting my Acoustic 450 back finally and dropping off the Traynor tomorrow. It's good to have amps again. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
