I just wanted to say that Robert DeLeo is an amazing bassist. Just listen to his tone in the song "Meatplow". Its incredible! Not to mention his killer lines like in Plush. So great!

Yup, I agree. I was an STP fan in the mid to late 90's, and I very much admired his tone and playing style.

Agree...

We do both "Plush" and "Interstate Love Song" every show - and I really look forward to them as a result of the very melodic bass line that STP puts forward in the mix.

It's a good musical challenge to listen closely and catch all the different ways the line is both melodic and harmonic (while outlining chordal patters) when complimenting the song's melody and flow.

Scott Weiland is part of Velvet Revolver who I guess will have a new album by summer.

The DeLeo brothers formed Army of Anyone with the singer from Filter.

Not that I was the biggest Stone Temple Pilots fan, I don't like either band nearly as much as I liked STP.

Yeah, but they didn't officially break up, did they?

I agree, they were better as STP. Well, I haven't heard Army of Anyone yet, but better than Velvet Revolver anyway.

Jay

I am attempting to start a new band and STP will be in our covers list. The last band I played in did Plush and Sex Type Thing. Great songs from a great band.
