Right now, all I have is my normal run of the mill, BIG, Big Muff. I love it. I want one of each of the Muffs, or at least the Black and Green Russian Muffs. |

Re: HOF- I'm not sure what Jeff Matz does in the studio, but live he usually runs a guitar rig w/ his bass rig. i like his tone on the new one, but i still prefer the band's older songs. they may be "maturing," but i don't have to like it.
Re: Knobs- i don't like'em. for years, I dreamed of an svt 300. i'd have a pre amp w/ volume, bass, mids, and highs, and a power amp w/ level and presence. that said, i am honestly really happy w/ my peavey classic 120/120. one more knob than the svt 300, and the option to run half power. I like using pedals and technique to color tone. |

Though I should really just keep saving for my eventual self-built project (once I know enough to actually attempt such). |

We are proud of all of them, but i'm particularly psyched for The Last Stand of Imam Hussain. We finished writing it this weekend, and that's the first time we ever pled it tips to tails.

Like playing a few notes are fine in a mix, then move to another string, or moving elsewhere on the neck, and it seems "louder".

This fattens the sound some, gives you more sustain generally and effectively raises the lower volume notes by giving em more body...all in all making your sound Fuller and your technique seem more consistent.

Nice tracks thombo... Needs more bass in the mix!

Its not spectacular figuring but wasn't expecting the mona lisa of wood grain.
Overall for $126 shipped to me it's amazing. It has really cheap strings though, will be changing those out soon. Have to wait til tomorrow's practice to hear it plugged in. will report more then.
Also, thinking about my next rig, M6 with dual 2x12's or Fearful 1212/6/1?

Some pretty cool riffs, albeit somewhat faster than I was expecting. I think I could write some interesting, big, and slow lines that sit underneath what they're doing to make it pretty heavy.
I'm also not completely sold on the idea of practicing 3 nights a week (2 hour practices). It's more than I've done with any other band, and while I'm fine with it while writing and getting a set tight, I don't think I can sustain that forever. I was upfront about it, and I think we're almost on the same page (at least, the drummer was). Going to have to chat with the wife about it and figure out what kind of commitment I'm really willing to make. It looks like these guys might be shooting a little higher than my hoped for 1 or 2 nights a week practice and 2 or 3 gigs a month. |
