I drive a Mazda 3 hatchback. I rear load my two cabs into the hatch and then slide the amp in from one of the rear doors. Those little rubber feet make it impossible to slide the amp across the back of my folded down seats so the case would probably make things a lot easier.

Anyone have experience with these: ECONOMY ATA CASE RECESSED for AMPEG SVT CLASSIC HEAD | eBay

Pretty cheap and great feedback reviews.

Protection!!! Me and my friend who owns SVT's own road cases. Both are oversized and heavy but worth it. It helps both our cases have wheels. If I haul it from my basement it's one trip with a partner or case then amp. Then I put the amp in the case in the garage and put it in my car.

If I was spending that kind of dough on a tube head (initial cost and maintence) I would definitely want to protect it. Hell, I have a $360 amp (between power and pre) and I have it in a case. So yeah, I condone the use of a case even though I am not a "tube guy".

So I guess i'm in the minority. No cases for me just a soft cover. We don't tour and load our own gear, never felt the need for the extra protection, just need to be careful when moving the amps back and forth from the car.

No cases or covers for my Sound City or Traynor, I just pack everything in tight so nothing can move and typically I wrap my amps in a tarp or a moving blanket. I have a lot of experience with loading trucks though, so I know nothing is sliding around once it's in there. I don't let anyone else move or load my gear ever though.

If I had a 300 Pro I would probably get a soft cover for it or something. Lots of little twiddly, turny, slidey bits to break off there.

This is what I was thinking. I saw a Fender soft shell head cover on ebay that I`ll probably buy in the near future for my newly paid for 300 Pro.

Hah, I know! It was pure coincidence that they shipped on the same day and are most likely arriving on the same day. I was telling my bandmates that tomorrow will be the best Christmas I've ever had.

I've got a jam session set up with a drummer for Sunday, I'm excited. I was working on some new riffs last night to have ready for that. It's also reminding me of all the gear issues I've been putting on hold that I need to sort out. Need to sell my Sound City B120 and GK 800RB, get a new "B Rig" together for jamming (Traynor and 810e live in the Cold Mourning practice space) and get a 112 cab for home.

I need to get my fuzz pedal issues sorted out soon too. Speaking of a Grey Stache, still high on the list of contenders for a new fuzz, along with a Pickle Pie B and a Colossus. Also still considering just getting a Xotic blender to make my current pedals a bit more useable in a mix.
