Can't do the 5 string....

I've tried and my brain is just too wired to the 4.

I setup to CGCF and with bigger strings and a bit o setup, my intonation is tits and no buzzing.

+1

The difference between a "meh" bass and a great one is the set up. It takes a $200 squire and makes it WAY better.

I use the bottom 4 strings of a DR Nickel Lo-Rider 5 string set and my tension and action are great. Like I said the intonation on the B is just a hair off, but I have pretty obsessive standards, so it's the amount of bend fretting the string puts on the note is probably more than the intonation is off on that string. You definitely can't hear it. I'm lucky that the guitarists in every band I've played with in recent years all understand intonation and setup and keep their sh*t in order.

Sweet, did you ever post sound clips in the build thread for that? I've been wanting to hear a double precision pickup setup for a while.

Very few basses can't be set up to play perfectly.

I plan to post another video of it in the near future to elaborate on the pickup sounds and why/how I chose them. The pickups are nothing special, affordable new on ebay.

Now that you are on facebook, when I try to tag you in the Still Valley logo you did for us, it must bring up every Corey but you... stupid facebook. I want to give you the credit but can't tag "you".

cheap effect pedals are going to break me. making me change my mind all the time and making me think of all these pedals that I don't have a power source for. I need 1 pedal. I think I am sold on the chorus. One person did mention an old DOD Octave pedal on the fb doom room. Any thoughts on that before I completely sell myself on NEEDING a chorus?

Sounds good man, I dig the flatwound sound for that tuning as well. I put a cheap OEM P pickup in a Squier I fixed up and sold a couple months ago and it sounded pretty good.

I'll have to try again at home. Sorry man. The band still loves it though. Thanks for hooking it up!

No problem man, I like doing stuff like that. I need to put more time into doing it for my own band.

I have to take some time to mess around with the GIMP program. I never had photoshop so I knew there would be a learning curve regardless.

The Warp Rig logo looks like your handy work. Looks good.

Yeah thanks, that's a 10 minute photoshop jobber right there. I need to do something with a little more thought put into it, something vector based so we don't have to worry about resolution.
