Yeah would piss off a guitarists I suppose. I play both guitar and bass. Thought it would be cool to split the signal somehow separate the bass and guitar strings to separate amps. Have bass going, piccolo bass(guitar) for chords, rock some loopers, etc. Lol, maybe I just need to find local guys who want to play the same type stuff I like instead of acoustic jam band stuff, instead of trying to be the Keller Williams of Stoner Rock.

There's one on ebay for $160. THe buy it now is $350, but there doesn't appear to be a reserve. Might be able to snag it for under 200.

Not sure if that was the model you were referring to, though...

that's it, but it'll cost me a metric ton of dough to ship it. I should just go to the local shop that has it and wave Benjamins at him to drop his price.

JPJ uses 8 string basses with Them Crooked Vultures.

Is anyone aware of a non leather option for a 4" wide strap? I am starting to feel the need for some extra weight reduction. (aka, I think my back is getting worse)

Yeah I mentioned his solo stuff and said not really this genre then I totally forgot about him in TCV, plus his solo stuff is actually pretty heavy.

4"? Woah. That's crazy. I have an old levys leather 3" black leather I'm not using. It's actually really nice.

Congrats blender!

Getting ready for the huge snowstorm. Predictions seem to be in the 16-24" range for me, some as high as 36". Yipes. Gotta stock up on booze!

Only a few days left before me and the misses head to NOLA for a wedding/Mardi Gras. Looking forward to drinking the hell out of some Abitta. Told her my band would pay the wedding reception. Man of looks could kill... she's maid of honor-zilla.

This got me thinking about that B200. It's got a speaker out, why not make a head out of it? You could probably even re-purpose the enclosure to make the headshell. Seems easier than trying to figure out how the wire the thing.

It has been mentioned... I don't think it would survive me trying to do it myself. If I could find someone to give me a hand with it sure. I think it's only 250 watts so was mostly just thinking of using it as a combo but idk. I wanted to see how it sounds first.

I can understand that. I tend to do ill-considered things without thinking sometimes. I probably would have taken a saw to the enclosure with questionable results and taped it all together with black gaff tape or something.

"There, I fixed it. Gaff tape looks like tolex"

This made me laugh and is so true with my experiences here, playing music. I sent this guy an email applauding him.

Re: When did touring mean... (Springs)
I don't think you are an *******. Just unrealistic.

Since when did touring mean, cram all your **** in a van, have almost no plan, itinerary, management, backlining or support and just whimsically go wherever?

This town is WEIRD about people "wanting to tour", it's just asinine and ignorant.

Generally speaking you build up a local following, play shows and build up enough support to finance reaching out farther, as your following grows, you travel even farther.

Here's a good test, if your band can't fund itself playing locally (which would include Denver and Ft. Collins) then your music isn't good enough. Period.
If you can't sell out a show where you live, what in the world makes you think you'll be a hit where you are totally unknown?

Touring COSTS money. A LOT of money. Not only do you have to fund the tour, but people need to make rent too. And again, it goes back to, if you can't do it locally, where you live and the cost of playing out is low. Then what's the point of spending thousands of dollars to go to some other city where nobody has any idea who you are?

If you have a wife and kid, your priority is to provide for them. Maybe your wife makes enough money that you can just go away for a few months and not have anything to show for it, or even worse, pay for it. But most people with kids do not have that luxury.

Your music and/or band needs to be self sustaining at worse case and making money in the best case. If you can't even generate enough income from playing local shows to pay for gas, gear, advertising, etc... well sorry, for whatever reason people aren't responding to your music.

Personally I sure as hell wouldn't take the risk of going out on an under-financed and unsupported tour with a band that can't generate a buzz locally or land any big shows in Denver and that's a short drive...

Who said it is a guitar amp?
Oh my, so much lows. Speaker won't jump out, will they? I'm really afraid of 400W speakers with this thiny 80W amp...
