Been a a good gear week for me since IRS was good to me. Bought a 1986 Ibanez Roadstar white pj on here. And a new looper, and a tascam trainer. Now hopefully my Gibson sells on ebay and the rest of the stuff I listed. Love my Gibson Victory Artist but my back sure doesn't lol. 86 Ibanez Roadstar P/J superlight w/gig bag--matching head!

I think they're worth the small amount of extra money for a few key features, personally. Although they do only have Speakon outputs, so I had to buy some new speaker cables for mine. Quote:

I can never seem to get something I really love with it though. I went off on a crazy kick of experimenting with bizarre octave course configuration for a while and eventually just moved on from it. My Rhapsody 8 is still sitting in the closet though, taunting me. I would consider throwing it on a Warp Rig tune, but it's in standard tuning and we play in B. I've still yet to own a fully functioning 12 string and I've obsessed about them for a long time. I do have what amounts to the bottom quarter of a 12 string though, my failed octave/fifth up thing that Krappy made me. Did not work well for that idea, but it does work as a fundamental and two octaves.

I played a Dean not the Rhapsody but the other model 8 string that played and sounded well at GC, better than I thought it would. Why not make your Dean BEAD if you can strings that will work? I say that but I recently converted my Yamaha for BEAD and I just can"t get along with that low B string, had plenty of tension, but just ahven"t bonded with that note yet. I switched back to real heavy gauge 110 set and tune DGCF and flirt with CFA#D# and C#F#BE but tend use D and E standard.

It's one of those things that's been in the back of my mind for a while, but it's low on the priority list. Higher on the priority list right now are sorting out my planned purchases for a dedicated BEAD bass and a solid backup, so I can put my Precision back into standard. So I need to try setting up my Drake Custom for BEAD and see how the 33" scale holds up (Drake says he likes it and has made 5 strings with the same scale) and also checking out PJ and double P pickup combos. I'm going to do the next Drake with a Precision pickup either way, just thinking about supplementing it with a bridge pickup for some variety.
Octave course experiments are always rattling around in my mind, but they come up when I have nothing else going on. Right now I actually have productive music related things to do, so they're low on the list. Quote:

Like you said before, one of every type. I endorse this model of gear hording. It's the reason why I have a bass for every pickup type I like: Precision, Jazz, Dual Humbucker and Stingray. Now I need a version of each for baritone tuning and some backups...just being thorough!
