What would you guys say is a fair offer? I know what I wanna offer, but I don't wanna seem out of line if it's too low.
Not sure what to make as an offer, but unless you are set on that color, why not find a clean older Made in Japan Ibanez Roadstar P or PJ they come stock with Dimarzios and in my opinion have a much nicer build quality than Made in Mexico Fenders. Also Fernandes made nice Pbass and jazz copies back in the day too. And both will be cheaper than the bass you are looking at. Check Musicgoround and Guitar Center used for Roadstars and Made in Japan Fernandes, quality and dirt cheap.

Like Ron said, you can pick up a great condition MIM Precision for ~$300 give or take. I flipped one that I picked up for about $200 a few months ago. The MIM series are what I consider to be the "mod" platform. Having said that, the mods don't really translate into more money when it comes time to sell it. They can generate more interest, but thats about it.
I would say if you like it, don't pay anything over $300. You can find an army of MIMs on CL if you wait a bit. Some come with BAIIs and nice pickups, while some are a place holder for some thirteen year old kid's sticker collection.
Don'e rule out GC used. That is where I found my MIM Fender Precision Bass Special for $200, out the door.

Don't run, we are your friends.
As promised, here's a demo of a Peavey T40. I ran through all the pickup positions with finger style and pick playing and demonstrated the phase switch. I didn't mess around with the coil tapping tone knob thing.
The amp has a little dirt on it and the pickups are pretty hot, so it starts to distort a bit when I dig in on the neck pickup.
The show was fun and we had huge, heavy-drinking crowd. Vega was really damn good! Super stoney, jammy space-rock goodness! My wife is big a fan too! I really dug the jam on the last song, and light show fit the music perfectly.
There was a shirtless guy who may have been on MDPV (bath salts), swinging around on a pole, dropping to floor doing push ups, pulling his pants down, taking a random swing at a stranger and connecting with his jaw then falling over the monitors on to the stage area. I alerted the bartender after the last part, they gave shirtless guy a second chance after which he went into the ladies room and removed his clothes.
The guy who cracked his head open outside turned out to be our guitar players roommate. Anyone from the old SR.com might remember Torgo. That was him. Haven't heard if he's ok, but I don't think he was too badly hurt.
The acoustic treatment on the stage was a little better than I was used to. My rig sounded quiet so I cranked the volume on the muff and upped the bass which ended up overdriving the power amp sending it into thermal shut down on the first song. (felt like amateur hour, a little embarrassed by that one). But by all accounts it was loud as hell out in the room. Chalk that one up to experience, I guess. We ran out of time and had to cut two songs from the set.
So not our best show, but a successful night over all. I'm really glad the Vega guys made it out, they played a great set and I'm looking forward to playing some more shows with them in the future.
Made it home about 3:30 and couldnt sleep. Got up, drank coffee and zombie'd it through the day yesterday until I passed out on the couch at 11:00.
Thanks! I must have missed your thermal shutdown, you guys sounded great! I hope your guitarists roommate is okay, he was the one that wanted to go to the hospital, thats a good sign.
Yeah that shirtless guy spilled my first beer, it seemed like the crowd didnt really know how to hold their liquor very well.
The jam went a bit longer than we were planning so sorry we cut into your set time.
Next time you guys will have to come to Milwaukee.
I do love me some '90's rock. My AIC tribute is taking a break but I hope we come back in the summer. Them, SoundGarden, STP, Mad Season... mmm. I've even grown to appreciate Nirvana and Rage Against the Machine.

I kinda stopped listening to rock music for most of the 90's for some silly reason...I'd just taken up the upright bass, and only listened to old rockabilly, country, blues, etc. No regrets, but in the past few years I've been getting off on tons of 90's stuff like;
fEARful 12/6/1 stacked on a 1515/66/1 all powered by a Carvin B1500. Some where around 1500 watts at 2 2/3 Ohms.
The funny thing is, with just the 12/6/1 this rig is very loud. Toss enough power at the small cab and you truly rival a 410 in volume, and go much deeper.

speaking of small cabs, a bassist who i played with the other night had a genz benz 2x12 that was the punchiest thing i've ever heard - normally i find 12s in that size box to be quite woofy and a bit terrible in small rooms, but it sounded great. not my kind of tone, genre or style, but awesome. kind of like proggy tech bass.
Theyre lame albums, but 14 year old me agrees with you haha!
well yeah that's the point
Nirvana - Incesticide
Nirvana - In Utero
Offspring - Ignition
Offspring - Smash
Our Lady Peace - Clumsy (some pretty good bass playing on this one which I never noticed before)

Good morning to YOU, TB Doomers!
24 hours awake, much glaucoma medicine has been taken, not sure how I'm awake but playing Electric Wizard for some uninitiated...
