You could definitely get a GK head for that price range. You could get a GK MB500 for within that new, less used obviously. I will give the GK MB series a huge endorsement. Almost ever demo clip I post from my soundcloud is my GK MB800. You could easily get a Peavey IPR power amp for within that price range as well. Just depends on it's one of the models that has enough juice for you. I tend to give myself a wide margin with power ratings on power amps, you want to give yourself some headroom to avoid thermal shutdowns. The GK MB heads are pretty conservatively rated though, they've got a lot of power/volume for their ratings. All the GK amps do, in my experience.
