Anyone a fan of 4x12's here?? | Not sure of a "preferred" builder. But I personally think this guy does really cool stuff with the greenboy designs. http://bnaaudio.com/gallery/gallery.htm

A little intro: Am primarily a guitar player, but for every band I've ever played in I take a bassist roll. With my current band, Mariana, I decided to take full ownership of being a badass bassist. We are a pseudo proggy, pseudo stoner rock group - Basically we have fits of Isis, Russian Circles, Hum, Pelican etc thrown all about.
Current rig is:
Fender Blacktop P Bass --> Volume pedal -> Boss TU-2 -> Fulltone OCD -> Ibanez DE-7 short delay -> Ibanez DE-7 long delay -> Tech 21 VT Bass Deluxe DI -> Ampeg SVT 3 Pro -> 2 Ampeg 410HLF's.
Been trying to friend a couple people's bands on here. We are in Idaho, but plan on making weekend trips to WA, OR, NV, UT, MT, etc....
Found this site while searching for a replacement for the SVT3, as well as the desire to push more air than my 410's can handle. Ideally i'd like to replace 1 of the cabs with a 2x15. haha, learning more about Greenboys offerings.
This looks like a great place to do some discovering! | Welcome man, thanks for the like on Facebook as well by the way.
Everyone else pretty much covered everything I would have said. Head and cabs not matching up, an impedance mismatch won't do you any favors in the power output department. I have a 410HFL and like it fine with the tweeter off, I used it on my last two recording sessions, but I'm not sure a pair are the best choice for maximum volume. The diameter of the speakers don't make a difference so much as the model, the cab, how everything is designed and put together (and used). Some greenboy cabs are modular, some are meant to be an all-in-one. If went that way you'd probably have a discussion with the builder about what your needs/rig are and what you wanted to get out of it. Quote:

in pedalboard news, grey DOD 250 clone ****ing rules for some trebly 70s tone with the ric in combination with a solo'd bridge pickup. my dirt quest is over, now i need to focus on utility pedals (as above) and my amp situation.
i almost forgot to mention, i found an LTD EC 50 guitar under my bed i'd forgotten about for literally a year, my girlfriend's dad gave it to me. plays nice after i lowered the action and tuned down to C standard. tempting to outfit with good pickups and sand the neck/replace the hardware.

I have still yet to hear the BB/EL OSO combo, but have heard nothing but good things about it. Someday soon maybe. I am digging what I got going now as far as my pedal board goes. I love running the BB alone. I have a blender that I like putting my B3K and VT Bass in with my clean P bass into the GB SM 9.2 signal. Its just the right amount of dirty grind. I am really starting to dig the Blender for all it can offer as well. I have a couple of things that I plan to kick off my board, but those four things, are staying.

He put GFS pickups in it and they sound pretty good.

I was thinking of going just a guitar cabinet, but I might make it a dual purpose cabinet. Also, I've considered making two 215 cabinets instead, 8 ohm loads, that was I can use it with anything.
