Don't care about weight, but they perform with my cab (Genz Benz 410T-XB) pretty well according to WinISD. They beat out Delta 10's for sure. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!
The Guitar Center Procoverage warranty place said that the cab was too heavy to ship to repair, so they are just sending me a full refund, and I keep the cab! Nice! Using that money to buy new speakers. |

Using that money to buy new speakers. | I used the Neo 3015 (different speaker, I know) But I never had issues with it being neo vs ceramic. Tone was still there.

Thanks Guys! |

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Mar 2007 Location: New Zealand | | | someone was talking about clean tones earlier. my tube amp is never set to clean, but if I pick softly over the neck it is extremely bassy and mellow, giving me the ability to build up from clean to bitey natural overdrive for ambient/slow parts. it is a beautiful tone thanks to the rick. i've never had a bass so sensitive to playing style before.
i have 5 kinds of dirt, in total.. heh.
1. natural amp OD when playing hard
2. grey DOD 250, bridge pup only, unity level but maximum dirt for grindy Sleep tones
3. El Oso set to 1 o'clock mix and gain, unity level. produces an amazing 70s sounding blended bass
4. Bluebeard set to unity level, 9 o'clock tone & sustain for a slightly brighter mudbutt bluebeard setting. this is for more sludgey riffs by itself.
5. El Oso + Bluebeard with settings above - for huge, heavy, emphasis riffage. the EO gives a big top end boost to the bluebeard, and because it is blended, keeps the original signal.
i don't use the DOD behind anything at all, or combine it with any other pedal - it's beautiful by itself. Sleep in a box when paired with a rick.
i also have the mini mu in a chain and it works best when the el oso is on, with or without the bluebeard - the blended nature of the EO makes it sound huge, and it provides a massive cutting mid boost after the filter sweeps. |

| | | | What are everyone's thoughts on Hofner style basses? I saw the dude from Admiral Sir Cloudesley Shovell playing a Club bass and it sounded good. I've picked one up once and remember the action feeling a bit unwieldy and high, like an acoustic. They look nice and I'm seriously tempted... | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
