Quick something to think about. How many of you guys roll on the same set every show? How many shows shoudl we be doing before we switch it up?

Our current set of 4 songs has been played twice now. We are about to add 2 more. Maybe mixing the order will give a different feel?

You guys should really try and catch Orange Goblin when they come to the states with Clutch. Ben Ward is an amazing(ly huge) frontman. I saw them in Liverpool last week and I was blown away. Next band I want to see that is coming through is Bongripper in April.
Do any of you guys have a Swollen Pickle (teehee)? It just seems too much fizz or too much mud with no mid definition no matter what I dial in. I really want to love it but I keep going back to my tonewhicker muff.

Orange Goblin is great. Ben is like an ogre. I hung out with them when they came over and toured with Scissorfight. He came over to me with two pitchers of beer drinking like a Viking and scared the **** out of me at first, but he's a super nice guy.

-the input isn't a dirt level. It controls the signal going into the pedal. High settings will overload the pedal and it will get mushy. Try starting around 9:00 or lower

-play around with the slope controls. you can get quite a bit of different sounds by messing around with them.

-It likes tube amps better than SS ones ( your orange should be fine though if it responds like my old AD200)

-open it up and check to see if it has the trim pot in it. Alan started adding them a little while ago. It basically limits the input knob. Mess around with it.


It's not a plug and play pedal and takes a little bit of time to get what you want out of it. It is a MASSIVE fuzz sound and won't really do the slightly driven thing at all, but what it does do it does very well once you get the hang of it.

Cool, thanks for the tips. He had the input set pretty low. On guitar it just sounded massive as ****, which while that is awesome, might not be a good fit for the band. He'll probably mess with it some more.

Someone tried to pull his pants down towards the end of the show, I have no idea why you would want to do that but... yeah, he was great. They really got their studio sound translated live and they were tight as hell.
These guys were one of the supporting acts and it was pretty cool seeing an electric upright being used http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HoWmwaYcUxY most of the crowd just looked confused.

The post from facebook said the frontman has walking pnemonia so it's nothing major. He'll probably kick that in a week or so with some meds.

"We are terribly sorry that we had to cancel our performance last night, but let's put the rumors to rest, before speculation runs rampant.

Blitz was diagnosed with what is called "walking pneumonia", and was medically advised to not perform due to it potentially getting worse if he did. When the health risk is no longer an issue, he'll be ready to kick ass once again."

Update: Hmm.. and the band reposted the show information.. maybe a robot or something? idk, the post i saw was from one of the bands playing and it was pretty definite.

got a stash of CrO2 tape, a TC-D5M and a Walkman Pro - i'm hi-fi as **** now. all i need now is two omni mics, a mic pre, some grados and i have a full analog live recording setup.

Walkman Pro needs a repair though and I don't have the small electronics skill to handle it. it is an amazing headphone amp though

That band The Earls of Mars is pretty interesting. Kind of a dirtier version of the sort of sound Ghost goes for. Not super heavy, but really creepy sounding, I'm digging it after listening to a couple songs.

Hmm, well Blitz isn't getting any younger, and there's some terrible **** going around. Hope he has a speedy recovery. Thanks for the info. -too lazy to google-
