I work in IT, as well...this posts are cracking me up.

We recently moved to virtualized desktops, which everybody bitched and bitched and bitched about. Now that we are fully onboard, I'll get a tech calling me asking how to fix this Non-virtualized system. I just want to throw rocks at him...Holy **** dude, this is where you do exactly the type of work you're supposed to know how to do. Nothing special, you've got full admin rights buddy, go to town and do some actual ****ing tech work.

Still get calls and calls and calls...

As I exit the office, I'll leave you guys with this mindblowing factoid of the IT world...

I've worked as a professional IT analyst for 4 years now, in a metropolis in the center of the city in a skyscraper office building. People wear button-down shirts and gel their combovers and press their pants and don't say dirty words out loud. Yet 4 times in these 4 years, I have witnessed a toilet stall where someone completely missed and dropped a wet runny turd either right on the lip of the toilet seat or sliding down the outer porcelain onto the floor. Of course this blind sh*tter never has the common decency to clean or even cover up his mess. Different departments, different buildings, doesnt matter... eventually someone sh*ts all over it.

Really, IT world? I would have never expected this.

Tuba? Butthole Surfers man... haha. Checkin out the vid now, pretty cool.

Yeah, I had to clean a turd off the floor when I worked at McDonalds. 15min later a bum threw up all over the bathroom. My manager came up to me. I told him no f*cking way am I cleaning that up, get someone else.

Whenever someone makes a mess here in the bathroom, I run around the halls talking sh*t pretty loud.
The people here are pretty lazy.
The coffee pot is a good one. Someone will get the last full cup, leave 4 sips in the pot so it can sit there burning. Instead of taking 30 sec to make a new pot.

Yeah I know that all too well, been trying to relocate for like a year, no callbacks for any job. Its a bummer, but at least I got the day job to waste my time and energy on.

I've worked IT for the last 7 years and I'm glad to say I'm giving it the flick and doing something else. Y'know how they say "Find something you like doing and get someone to pay you for it" but they always neglect to mention that it sucks the fun out of it fairly quick...

My favourite was the "Project Managers" (Overpaid government employees that act like over-entitled children who sit on their a*** all day or drive around the bush in their company cars dropping phones and laptops that I'd have to fix) who would leave their reports until the day it was due, fake a computer problem and blame IT as to why the report wasn't done. Then they'd lean on your shoulder while trying to fix the computer saying they had to get the report done today. Well, how about p*** off and use another computer you moron?

Glad to be not working in IT anymore.

Can someone pay me to sleep in? That sounds like a good job.

I, being older than all youse guys (except for thwitedc), have come to accept the futility of caring and have embarked on a quest to achieve total apathy. I'll keep the porch light on for you.

While they are great and played a huge role i think there are "better" bands. In the early 2000s there were Kyuss clones were everywhere but over the past 5-7 years i have heard a lot more originality and there are many other bands that i prefer listening to now.

I'm halfway there. I usually don't get upset at work. Trying to center myself and what not. I blame it on my work ethic.
