ARGH!!! I guess IT is kinda like doing custom work for random idiots... so you know my pain. | I just typed out about 5 paragraphs of bile on my current headache at work. Then I took a deep breath and backspaced. So yeah, I'm with you. I'm in the made to order/custom business, dealing directly with home owners and building contractors and it's an exercise in trying to stay optimistic about the human race. Every time something infuriating happens where customers evade responsibility, act like a prick to get their way after going back on their word or just plain lie...I learn a valuable business lesson and start a few new white hairs in my beard.

One in honor of my wife and I being together for 10 years, one for my grandma that passed, and one, I just like.
I guess I can't complain too much. I drive a decent vehicle, I have a roof over my head, and food in the fridge. Wish I had a bigger gear fund. Much harder to convince someone to buy gear when they think $100 is too much to spend. Do you guys have any idea how hard it was to convince her that my $1200 Carvin was a cheap bass? (especially when you are looking into custom builds to meet a weight requirement). I just wish my wife realized how expensive gear actually is.

I recently had an insurance dispute with a contractor and I felt bad about it the whole time because although I knew it really was the contractor who skimped and screwed up, it made me feel like I was being one of those jerks you deal with just to get the job I paid for. the dishonesty is the hardest thing to deal with in any situation. most problems have a workable solution if folks will just deal honestly, if not it just makes everything sooo much harder!

I've scrounged up a lot of mild fixer upper rigs for myself and friends/band mates. At one point it became a game...how cheap can I put together a killer sounding rig for a project? My wife used to do the same thing with pickup trucks, before we got married.
