Do you guys consider Bolt Thrower to be doom metal, or doom influenced? or do you consider them something else?
I've heard too many times them described as death metal, and to me they are not DM at all in the slightest bit. Yes they have alot of gain on the guitars and double kick beats, but its slow, super heavy, and at time melodic.

| | Plug In, Turn Up, Doom Out. Long Range Fluffer Owner: Dunwich Amps | | | | | if you like Sleep check out OM which is/was 2/3 of Sleep while High on Fire is 1/3 of Sleep. Eyehategod for some mix of sludge and crusty kinds of doom. Neurosis is another heavy hitter. Shrinebuilder is one of best supergroup kind of things with a bunch of stoner/doom legends. YOB is another really incredible band in the stoner/doom scene. |

I'll second all of Laz's picks. Weedeater is a good band to get into, from North Carolina too. Zoroaster is from the ATL. Check them out if you can.
Buy the Meteor City Records Comp ...And Back to Earth Again. It's 3CD's with a ton of good bands to get your feet wet. You can find it (at allthatisheavy.com) for a pretty good price. I got mine for like $12 and it had been on sale for $6.66. | Oh, yea. I'll be on these too. Funny, instead of spending My time and coins on more bass gear I dont need(lol), I'll get back to spending it on some new tunes. Love it! |

A bunch of medium sized bands are supported by them. They have almost 100 bands on their label and at least 1/4 of them are on constant rotation for my listening! |

BTW are those your Jag basses in your avatar? I have a MP Jag bass identical to the one on the right and love it! The only quarrel is I wish the nut spacing was 1 11/16 like my p-bass, other then that its amazing for the price i paid.

I highly recommend all of you guys to check out Steve Cannon's page. He does a weekly podcast too. Really good stuff.

I'm on a schedule of about 1 show a year for the past 4 or so and it's been over a year since the last one. Before that I played A LOT of show, steadily for a long time, so I was ok for a long time. It's getting to me now though, big time.

The red one is a Japanese Fender Jag, that I took all the flash'n'dash off of. One is a MP, basically stock. One is a MP Body with a VM Squier Jag neck. All got the same pickup and bridge appointments ( EMG PJ set and Badass II). IMO- the MP stuff is a damned good bargain, all around. |

BART goes right down the middle of the street and highways in the SF bay area, but there are at least concrete curbs, if not full medians and walkways on either side.

I was out there for work, working with the SLC Fire Dept. I told them I thought it was a terrible design, and asked how many calls a week they get because of car + train collisions. They said they didn't want to talk about it haha. |

Then next day, train wakes him up at 4:30, and asks the guy why he said no and the guy says normally it comes earlier. Driving me nuts that I can't remember now. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
