How small do you consider a "smaller" city?

Seems pretty normal to me. The train tracks go right down the Embarcadero in Oakland.

THANK YOU. For the life of me that was the only context of the movie I could think of, and it was going to eat away at my brain for days.

Do you guys consider Bolt Thrower to be doom metal, or doom influenced? or do you consider them something else?

I've heard too many times them described as death metal, and to me they are not DM at all in the slightest bit. Yes they have alot of gain on the guitars and double kick beats, but its slow, super heavy, and at time melodic.
Def old school death metal to me. More mid paced death and faster doom riffs though. But I'm young so... To me the old school death metal bands had more slow heavy atmospheric riffs mixed in.

Here are some more old school dm bands.
Sorroricide
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onYxx...eature=related
Morgue
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsTBz...feature=relmfu
Morta Skuld
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMSVI...eature=related

Then these would be death doom, I think I posted them before.
Decomposed

Cianide
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xcn1X...eature=related
Disembowelment
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSeFxbaNVnQ

I prefer Old School DM to the newer everything has to be fast stuff.
Although bands like these can still bring it too. Even though 2 of these are older haha.
Denial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPjHQ2XsHuQ
Immolation
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UljXBJyLZbU
Incantation
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHcrL...eature=related (epic)

Edit: This Incantation album is a fvcking riff factory, never ending beast ass riffs. It's been a while since I listened to this. And the track I posted is the last song.

double edit:
Katatonia back in the day.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGZ9K...feature=fvwrel
you might recognize the vocals.

old Paradise Lost, old Anathema and bands similar to that as well. The more gothic death/doomy stuff.

Listen to:

Melvins - Stoner Witch (probably their most "stoner rock" record)
High on Fire - Surrounded by Thieves
Yob - The Unreal Never Lived
Monster Magnet - Superjudge
Kyuss - Welcome to Sky Valley (the Sgt Pepper of stoner rock records)

Most of these are on Spotify. But you're eventually going to want to track them down on vinyl. After listening, steal a car. Drive it out to the desert. An old Indian medicine man will meet you there. Do EXACTLY WHAT HE SAYS (important)!. You'll wake up the next morning in your own bed with no recollection of how you got there. But you'll be a stoner rock fan.

Yup I can confirm he plays a 5'er on some songs live.

Btw is he playing flats or rounds? All this time I thought he played exclusively flats...

Completely off topic, but I watched the movie yesterday and I instantly thought "How DOOM is that?"

Yeah, on Nude with Boots. The theme itself was copped from Hector Berlioz's Symponie Fantastique (which is also grymm as fvkk).
