I love how comfortable they are to play, and for such a light bass they have great low end response. Do you use dirt pedals in your setup? I couldnt get the EMG's to play nice with my pedalboard so I went back to stock passives and have been very happy. Quote:

Back then to me if it didn't have cannibal blasts it wasn't true DM. Some of those bands you listed def brought back some memories, I LOVED Incantation back in the day, they defined heavy tone to me, and like you said total riff factory.

Early SFU and jungle rot. I seen a band last year called vermillion, total sludge death. From Wisconsin I believe. Best part, two of the dudes are in a Motörhead tribute band |

Now I'm gonna have to go through my old high school cd binder and see if i can find them. Looking back at my tastes in high school i can see why i eventually ended up with being a total doom head. I was obsessed with bands like Hypocrisy, Obituary, Jungle Rot, Bongzilla, EW, SFU, Tch Kung, Grey Skies Fallen, Katatonia..... Ahhhh nostalgia...

At the time when I bought My first MP Jag, I was shocked by how good it looked and played for it's price, and being a tweeker/modder by nature, I knew without a doubt that I would tear it apart to do something to it when I got it home, so the low entry price made it that much more appealing. That said, the day I bought the first one, it was a choice between it and a Geddy Lee Jazz, and the Modern Player won.
Regarding the EMG's. Over the Years I've went back and forth with EMG's, I totally love'em or hate'em depending on the bass or music that I'm playing. At this moment, I can say that I like'em well enough.
I'm not running any effects to speak of, I've just been naturally overdriving My amps to get what I want(Vintage Ampeg V-4 with an 810, or Orange TB-500 with a fearful 15/6-tube---which replaced My old SVT Classic, faital-215 rig). |

My favorite part was the neck its so smooth and the fretboard is great, like i said i just wish it was 1 11/16 at the nut.
I battled with my EMG's in my p-bass for months before i finally swapped em out for a p-p/u out of a MP jag and upgraded the pots to 500k. Man I'm glad i did, it made the tone pot alot more usable and my dirt pedals don't sound like they are being overloaded at the input. But I have to admit that the EMG clean tone was superior, but negligible since i usually play with the tone rolled all the way off. BTW that amp setup sounds amazing!!!! I'm currently just using an AD200B and Emperor ported 2x12, I play both baritone guitar and bass in my current band so i needed a small but potent rig to complement my guitar rig.

I can honestly say that since 93, I have owned it on cassette 4 times and CD about 6.
Next in line behind that would be (the now out of print) Nativity In Black Parts 1 and 2, sabbath tribute albums, that both of which I'm sure I've owned several times in various formats.
