Found this tasty nugget whilst surfing Youtube (waiting on some stain to dry). Anyone heard of these Guys, "ZED"? Dude has got a pretty nasty sounding tone going on, on this track.

Sounds a little like an aggressive Entombed mix with more up front bass. I like it. Some pic on another one of their youtube clips shows him playing a Sandberg bass through a SVT-CL and 810 cab. Not sure if it is a P, J, or P/J. I am always interested in people's signal chain when I hear a great tone.

Supercollider and an AD200B? Are you my evil twin?!?! In all serious the supercollider is a great muff if you want the low end fuzzed out big muff sound but want to add mids back in so that you cut through, it doesnt have the hifi grit my Monolith big muff has but it witht he tone bottomed out and the mids at like 2pm it has more balls with the same amount of cut. On the AD200B it's a great head, I love mine. The EQ is useable, its loud as balls and eats up pedals like no other production head. But a word of advice, don't get the OBC cabs, theres alot of other options out there that sound just as good if not better. I love 12" speakers with mine, I've been considering getting an unloaded Avatar 4x12 in orange tolex and loading it with Eminence Delta pro-12a's. I'm currently using those speakers in a 2x12 with mine and they sound amazing.

In other news, I sold my lil 20watt Jet City Verellen mod guitar head and picked up my new guitar head today, a Peavey VB-2. 225watts of EL34 goodness, it sounds amzing with my baritone and is loud as balls.

I've been doing it forever. Since i use pedals for all my dirt i only need a single good clean channel with alot of watts (which is easier to find in a bass amp than guitar amp), this one also has an fx loop and switchable mids so its easy to dial in and setup pedals. It also doesnt leave me wanting more low end like alot of guitar amps do. Bass amps for guitar is my secret weapon.

Yeah I love the basic tonality of a good muff and I'm not into Hifi sounds when it comes to pedals or amps.

I'm a little OCD when it comes to amps and cabs though...I'm just compelled to get matching cabs. I don't think I could have a nice Orange head and not have the Orange cabs to go with it.

What would you recommend for 15" other than the OBCs?

Well if you want something in an enclosure to match the head there's not many options. Your best bet would be to talk to member Demon666 he's built his own cabs and is considering making cabs for others and he could definitely build you something that could fit the bill.

I wish I knew more people who were down to drive to shows in the bay area around here. I would totally have made plans for that Neurosis/Yob show. I didn't know it was happening until I saw Sartori's post, but I never bother finding out what shows are happening in Santa Cruz or the bay area anymore. Since I'm not going to be driving several hours round trip by myself for a show.
