Does anyone know if the guy from Red Fang has a Magma? I mean he obviously likes the Beta Bass amp.

There was some talk of Hardcore / Power Violence in the past thread. These are some of my current favorites of that genre.

Logical Nonsense: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6X93qNvdOU

.F**kingcom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eeDmx...eature=related

I got into underground music with the help of hardcore punk long ago, and played in some pretty well known punk bands. It obviously still holds a place dear to me.

I'm tired of sinking money into mine. I'm sure the problem is a preamp tube but it seems these modern tubes just can't handle old amps...

@ampegfuzz, what tubes are you using in your SVT?

Power is NOS tung sol, like 7ish years and still running strong. Pre's are a mess of old GE, Sylvania, and Sovtek. Get NOS pre's at least, because Ampeg tubes are weird and JJ's suck IMO. if you keep a good eye good deals pop up. I was looking for a 12DW7 for a min and wanted NOS and ended up with a pair (only needing 1) and got them for less then just getting a single JJ or overpriced NOS. I deoxit my tube sockets like every other year and spray the pots. If you want exact pre's, ill be glad to open her up a bit.

Yeah the JJ 12DW7 is terrible. I have GE's but the rest are Electro Harmonix, including the power tubes. They are the only current production 6550 that are actually rated at or above the SVT's screen and plate voltages. I really hope it's a preamp tube and not something more expensive.

Do you have your SVT in hand still? Get some Deoxit and spray out your tube sockets. Maybe your tech didn't clean them and you have some oxidation in there.

i was really hoping that this acoustic porch blues thing was just a phase...i kept expecting the rock to start. Maybe their rocking days are done? Not that there is anything wrong with the new material but i'm just tired of it.

Agree Sam. This style is cool, but I want to hear Clutch rock my face off. I have just about everything Clutch has ever done in digital format, and when I put them on my mp3 player I always leave off the last two LPs.
