I'm tempted to see what a big old mudbucker sounds like through my big muff tuned down to C.
I have an Epi SG 6 string though, and I'm pretty sure the neckdive on a 34" scale bass might be atrocious. Going to have to see if I can find somewhere local to play one. Musiciansfriend is having a 15% off sale, so it'd be about $221 for the EB-3 versus $140 for the SX (with shipping and a new pickguard--ugh, white pickguards are painfully ugly). |

Mike at Richtone really did a great job with it. I can't wait to get my SVT back from him.

Who really cares about passive vs. active tone when you're playing Jessie's Girl, anyways? Not this guy. I'd much rather sock that $150 away to spend on a boutique fuzz or some new cabinets (because as much as I like my 210 for punch, it doesn't hold up against an Orange half-stack).
On to a new topic: Any tips for breaking out of the key of E (or C, as the tuning happens to be) comfort zone? It's so easy to be able to throw some open strings in and to hop around on some of those stoner classic note combos (the D to E hammer-on on the 3rd string, for instance, while pedaling on an open 4 string). Help me expand my horizons! |
