I love finding bands that I never heard of. Get to experience something for the first time. Better yet, new genres or pioneers of new genres. Example, I really hope all you guys know who Botch is. If not, do yourself a favor and start youtubing! They are great. I had no clue that type of music was out there. So much better than the watered down version of the genre that I had heard (all the Victory bands circa 2002).

Cool enclosure there as well.

I like the record. I`m not sure how it sounds tho compared to the rest of their stuff.

I got super into them right before they broke up. Great, great band!
I was super thrilled to see that the bassist from Botch joined Russian Circles. Killer bass player(I`ve been Gasing over a Gibby G-3 because of him).
It`s cool to see some one mention Botch here!!!

I like the record. I`m not sure how it sounds tho compared to the rest of their stuff. | Goo is to Sonic Youth, as Dookie is to Green Day (sorry for the comparison, but I feel it's valid).
Both bands had several indie releases. Both records mark the turning point as the band's major label debut. Both records still have some elements of what made the bands famous, but you can feel some new production on it. Both records were pretty successful and still recognized by the underground following.
Goo was my first exposure to them, so maybe it just has the special place for me.

And Botch fvcking destroys!
matter of fact screw this I'm listening to Botch now haha
Then maybe some Snapcase, Candiria, HHIG, Fugazi...

They all have that great tone of being insanely heavy, but you can still pick individual strings and palm mute without everything turning to mush. I hate them all on bass, but love it on guitar. My favorite fuzz of all time for guitar is the vintage FF clone my buddy threw together, just because he had leftover parts laying around and had made the PCB learning while learning how to etch. If you haven`t watched their dvd,I highly recommend it. I remember watching it with my buddy. We were sitting on the floor of my living room, drinking some beers. Just listening to Ian Macaye talk made us want to start a band. Quote:

And Corey, don't be so modest. Everything you have ever posted sounds dope.
I'll have to check all these new links at home, but I am getting anxious!

I remember being 15 seeing both bands in the taylors (mike & chris from pg.99) basement packed with 80 people, it was a life changing experience.
