They had EyeHateGod,Tumbleweed,Dern Rutlidge and My Left Boot at this festival,in terms of stoner rock.
The thing about the festivals they put on there,is that they put beer prices through the roof - $7.50 for a can of carlton draught! | I thought I'd seen something about EHG playing Cherry Bar over the weekend, but I was broke and had my kid so I wasn't going anywhere! Can't believe $7.50 for a bloody Carlton can though. Quote:

Still trying to get them to update to an ADSL2 connection. As for TV/cable - I download all my TV shows, my PC monitor is a TV and no antenna hookup. Quote:

Generally speaking professional mastering engineers usually also record and mix, but even they rarely or never master things they recorded and mixed. For no other reason than having a fresh pair of ears on the project, if you don't buy that there's a craft to mastering that's different than mixing beyond making it loud (there is). It's one of my top 5 rants. | Very yes. The fresh ears principle is a must. Mastering needs to be more than raise the level TO THE MAXX! as that's all most people think it is these days. I missed the last recording session for our EP, got a text message saying "We're all done, starting mastering now". 30 minutes late "Mastering done!". Nearly threw my phone across the room.
Volume wars are stupid, I like dynamics. I also like it when people get training in a particular craft and make the most of it rather than get trained as a mixer with limited understanding of mastering and crank all the levels into a limiter...
So anyways, now that's all done...
Might be scoring an Ibanez V - no idea on age/model/condition, but it's free so I may have another weapon on my hands which will be nice.
Not enjoying work today, need more coffee!

What's these guitar pedalboard ideas then?

If it ever gets to the point of becoming a full gigging band, I'm going to play bass, but I still want to craft the tones and record the guitars myself for now. I'm figuring out the rigs I want to use for recording the guitars, based off the modeling setups I've been using for the demo. I've been using my Gibson Les Paul Custom with a Bareknuckle Warpig in the bridge. Just doing bridge pickup for one track, middle position for the other. Here's the proposed pedalboard setups:
Guitar 1: FET overdrive > Muff based fuzz > Tech 21 British > analog delay w/ low cut
Most of the gain is going to be from the OD, with only some moderate gain on the fuzz.
Guitar 2: Muff based fuzz > high gain distortion > Tech 21 Liverpool > tape style delay
The gain on the fuzz is going to be almost all the way off for this one, I think, around 9 o'clock max. Most of the gain will be from the distortion, which I think will have to be something RAT based or at least very thick, but articulate.
I already have quite a few pedals, so I don't anticipate having to buy a lot of new stuff. Although if I can raise the funds, always fun to try out new gear. No matter what I still need to buy the Tech 21 British and the tape style delay. The rest I could manage, but it might eat into my bass pedalboard a bit or what I have just might not be the best possible fit. I'd like to pick up a new overdrive and a new fuzz if I can justify the expense. I'm not even concerned about the amp and cab situation yet. I have a Carvin X100B, which has a great non master volume clean channel that would be a great palate to build on, plus it's got a 25/50/100 power scaling feature. I've also got my Fender Princeton Reverb Re-Issue and a DIY 1x12 for quick changing speakers is my next DIY project. I still have a Celestion 60 loaded 2x12 and G12-75 loaded 4x12 (which I'm not a huge fan of anymore). I'm probably going to go with greenbacks for both rigs on the speaker side of things.
The Les Paul is the only guitar I have in baritone tuning right now (I have an SG and a Strat in standard), I might pickup a Carvin guitar at some point and have it set up in baritone. I really like their gear in general, I've been wanting to try out their guitars for a while now.
I was thinking about just picking up a stable of Tech 21 pedals. They're a really underrated brand, I think. I read a lot of negative reviews of their products, but they come off like being from people that don't really know how to use gear effectively to me. Different strokes though. I've been listening to Bret Kingman's demos of the Boost Overdrive, Fuzz and Distortion and any of them could probably get the job done for this project. Some of the other contenders are the Walrus Iron Horse distortion, Jupiter fuzz and Voyager overdrive. Also some Wampler stuff, the faux tape echo, Leviathan fuzz and Paisely Drive. I will mostly likely run through everything I have first to see if anything fits the bill. However, if I can actually get my SVT CL and a few other things sold, I will be able to pick up at least a few new pedals early next year I think.

There's probably some good threads, like here, but I haven't paid much attention to playing guitar in the past 4 years.

We met at a local music store, and obviously I looked around but I was successful in not spending money. Played some cool stuff too, I played a SVT VR into a Mesa 6x10, I wasnt able to crank it obviously but I could tell that rig could crush.
Basses I played in order of how much I liked them.
1)99 Warwick Thumb, that baseball bat neck and growl that had was just sooooo...Warwick
2)Gibson Flying V bass, fat neck, was really comfortable to play sitting down with the bottom horn between your legs
3)70's Guild Jetstar, I'm a sucker for Guild, had mojo up the wazoo
4)Fender bass VI custom shop reissue, someday I'll own a Bass VI type guitar
5-6)2 70's Rics, both had small necks, not my style
If you guys are ever in Milwaukee, please go check out Cream City Music, the walls are lined with amazing old guitars, have a pretty good stock of basses too. They are a Warwick dealer as well, only one I know of.

Wouldn't surprise me if it was Rob.He brings all the cool **** out.But yes,I've heard from 3 different sources that Truckfighters will be coming in May for Cherry rock.
The bloke from Tumlbeweed also mentioned something the other day about touring with Sabbath. This gets me excited in all sorts of places. The lady friends mum just bought two tickets for the front row,and has swapped with us for our seats in the stands near the back.Needless to say,I listened to alot of Black Sabbath last night.
Moloch- Cherryfest was definitely not worth $90 plus exorbitant beer prices.I only went because I got in free. Here's the review I did http://smalltowndisease.blogspot.com...fest-2012.html

Gain is so application specific and personal that I'll just leave it at that.
Also highly recommend the Boss DD7 if you're on a budget for delay, if not Boss RE-20 and EQD Ghost Disaster are my favorite delays, and that's over the Boss DM-2 and DM-3 I've owned. I'm gassing hard for the Catalinbread Echorec clone
