Anyone know of a doom band that uses an 8 string (octave) bass? I think it'd be cool for a duo type band, that I want to at somepoint do, for a more filled out sound.

It probably sounds like what Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull looked like...

Cool name, high expectations, then the reality let down..

So true, sadly. On the other hand, Raiders of the Lost Ark was on tv yesterday, now that's a true classic.

I was thinking an AAF would sound like a Digitech Synth Wah. Sythy fuzz, 50% cool, 50% cheezy.

You've made such a right thing... Can't stop myself buying different musical devices in stoned condition... Last week bought two basses for my last money. Have to tighten my belt for now! I like my bad habits anyway.

It's not a bad idea, I've wanted to do a solo doom/sludge thing for a few years. But I'm too lazy.
Get your Godflesh on.

I'm thinking a fuzzface with built in reverse delay, with a slight bit of modulation thrown in.

reverse delay for abduction style stuff. there isnt any true pedal reverse delay since that would violate causality.

Put me down for an Ancient Aliens Fuzz if its sub $150. Meunch I am very disappoint I can't see my friend the scientist on a daily basis anymore, the Acoustic+Sunn rig is sick nasty for sure, but the Ancient Aliens guy makes me giggle pretty much every time you post.

Remember those lazer beam toy guns that made a different space/lazer sound every time you pulled the trigger? Make it do that too every time you strike a note

An envelope ring modulator that swells and distorts with each note? Call it the Undeniably Fuzzy Object... or U.F.O.

I think we could make a whole pedal line out of these.

Don't let the noise/modulation crew on TB hear wind of this, or else this thread will turn into a discussion of how to achieve the perfect dubstep wobbbbbbbbbbbb

Ring mod built into a wah housing. Something like my Mold Spore. Run that into some delay and its spaceship city.
