Think it needs a bit of a tune up though. Dont know if these every had springs, or were supposed to hold in place, but when you take your foot off it it balances itself right in the middle of wah sweep. Need to install some sort of spring to hold it down when my foots not on it. Power cable's alittle chewed up, nothing some electrical tape can't fix | Awesome! Mine is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. I can't wait to let that baby rip. Also got word that my Orange AD200B will be in next week too so I'll have lots of new gear to play with this Christmas |

A lot of Doom bands, and some unknown bands too. Soulpreacher is rad. | Good label, they released a bunch of classic albums, most of which have been re-issued on other labels since Man's Ruin went under. Not everything they put out was great, though. There's some real crap too. Kozik wasn't too discerning about what he released towards the end of their run. Also, barely any promotion, no money, poor distribution and no real help for bands after the release. |

Look what Santa dropped off today! These strings are ridiculous but they play surprisingly smooth and nice. Almost rubbery.
Got to jam on it for 15 minutes then had to leave for work. USPS is run by clowns.

When I finally took them off the color had come off everywhere.

When I finally took them off the color had come off everywhere. | Geeeh yeah they feel nice and soft... I could see them flying apart. I've used coated Elixers before and the coating always gets shredded and flakes off everywhere. I have a fresh set of D'darrio heavies thats my personal favorite bass string, will probably put them on before I bust this guy out to the band.
I heard the Stingray/Sterling preamps work "passively", ie if you take the battery out they'll basically play in passive and the EQ will be dead. Is that true? Gonna test it tonight regardless. The "feel" of this bass is pretty awesome so far, so if I can't find active tones I dig (I can hear traces of mid scoop already) I want to add a switch to go passive and bypass the pre. Oddest feature with the pickup/pre is I found a setting that captures the tone I thought only a Warwick Thumb could make. Coolness.

Or just regular strings...
BTW, gratz on the new rumbler.

You could always install another pre amp in. |

Did you ever think about taking the speakers out of the other 2x15 you have and putting them in the Sunn? The Sunn might be a better design than the other...just a thought |

The Sunn might be a better design than the other...just a thought | Thanks man... the Sunn's the only 2x15 I got. I have a Peavey combo 1x15 but I found when I took the Black Widow out that it was 4 ohms (!!) so the Sunn got the cheapo replacements. But I'm still working on my 12/6's too, had to completely refinish em cuz I screwed up pretty bad trying to wrap them in marine vinyl, the vinyl's off but now I'm painstakingly rubbing paint thinner into the 3M glue to try to scrape off what I can. They're going to be painted black and thats f***ing it, it'd take me 20 minutes at this point to install the hardware and speakers, but this 3M glue is a real d*ck.
Then its either gonna be the Acoustic pumping the 2x15 + a pair of 12/6's on its own at 2 ohms, or pumping the 2x15 with the Acoustic as dirty channel and the 12/6's with the Carvin for clean. Who knows, for all people rave about fEARfuls, the Sunn cab may become redundant. But I love running distortion through 15"s, so creamy and delicious....
My Tim Commerford boner-rig is finally coming to life! He's a big part of why I've always wanted a Stingray. I can honestly say the only GAS I have now is to finish fixing/building all the projects that are lying around my house.
