they are very well built, and I do notice a difference compared to listening through the iPod jack...not with cheap headphones though.
Noted!! I'm definitely going to have to put this on the wish list.

Luckily i have a pretty decent set of headphones I don't remember the model or brand at the moment but they were the studio standard issue from when i went to recording school. They were right around 120$. Anything would be an improvement over the headphone jack of my main ipod, cause it doesnt work. and its annoying as **** constantly changing the files on my ancient 4gb ipod video, i need the variety of 80gb dang nabbit!!!

nice. bongripper actually did a dark ambient track that we never released called "glaciers" we recorded it a couple years ago now one day while we were bored. It's super low frequency and very unsettling. I think it's pretty awesome. Maybe one day we'll actually make it available to people.

Hey Ron, if you guy get a show and need a opener in chicago, VEGA is ready to gig now. And we want to be as much as a Chicago band, as we are a Milwaukee band.

Right on man, currently nothing is on the books, but I'm sure we'll have something in the next month or so. Depending on where and who's booking I'll keep you in mind.

In all fairness, blue isn't here, so I'm not talking smack. But, I suppose he has earned a lot of it.

But, that post is winning

That Stars of the Lid track (music for Twin Peaks) is slowly amping me up to run out into the rain, shout to the sky...then suddenly take flight at supersonic speeds, leaving a crater in the pavement.

I don't wanna get damp though, so I'll probably just stay inside and drink coffee.

While not normally what I would consider ambient, the latest Sigur Ros album "Valtari" is super chill and swirly sounding. I like it a lot more than the record that preceeded it.

I've listened to that track for a few hrs before. Really good stuff.

Along with this video from a youtube guy, alacazam
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgwIibWQNSE
This one really makes me think, maybe a little more depressing with the video, but really quality stuff.

Carbon Based Lifeforms has some cool stuff too. Some is a little bit more psy.

Bad Sector should be mentioned, as for me - Massimo Magrini is the best ambient wizard ever.

All this ambient music talk is GAS'n me up to finally build my "bow" bass. A fretless single bridge p/u jazz bass with flats played with a bow. And then sent through my timeline and space on swell delay and shimmer +1/-1 verb. Gah i can hear its beautiful sirens call now....
