Eh, can't say that I wouldn't do the same in their position. But man, they've come a looooong way since I saw them way back in 2000-2001. It was at the fireside bowl in chicago opening for drunk horse. I thought they were awesome, got the EP and it ruled, liked them less with each release.

Pixar is awesome, Mastodon is awesome. I don't see the problem. They have really just been doing whatever they think is cool for years. They've clearly evolved as a band quite a bit and I don't think they're anywhere near a "sell out".

Long shot but does anyone know of how I could get in touch with Jus Oborn personally? Seems like I'm never going to succeed with this, haha.

Dude, I do that too. If inspiration hits, you got to get it down.

That's kinda my feeling. Although I felt they already kind of "sold out" by using a rap producer on their last album and making what I thought was a terrible ****ing record.

I just expect people to whine and complain about the Monsters Inc thing, which I find humorous. If you don't like it, don't listen to it. It doesn't change the music they already made. The ATHF stuff was awesome.

I'm not saying humming to remember a riff is crazy, if it works awesome. Im saying the way my drummer does it is like a crazy schizophrenic humming to themselve, its hilarious. Secret track material for sure.

Send an email to whatever EW's current record label is, they'll probably forward it to him if you ask nicely.

Don't be surprised if he doesn't respond, though. When I met him he was a HUGE DICKBAG. Maybe's he's mellowed, but jesus, what a cockass.

recording ominous vocals for backwards transcribe and ultimate insertion into creepy organ piece. Should be fun.

John Garcia, Saint of renaming the same band more times than neccessary
Bobby Liebling, Saint of Recovery

"In Geezer We Trust"

Should call Dan Maines the Silent Saint or something. Dude has been killing it with the best of them for like 25 years and no one ever ****ing talks about him.

I was thinking the other day that if I ever sold custom speaker cabs, they'd be advertised as being crafted with black magic hoodoo. I'd inscribe the insides with runes and magic circles to make sure the cabs had access to eternal wells of thunderous sonic power.

I think I would buy a cab like that.

I made this when I was going to make my own cabs. Would be cool for an amp plate.

I want an etched metal plate on the front that says "do what thou wilt", with the option of a second 215 that says "the whole of the law", Aleister Crowley style.

Were you the dude wielding the Ric 4001 in the review? What did you think of it? Is it a keeper?
