Except it still hasn't grown on me. Really I haven't really been thrilled with the last 3 OM records now. Conference, Variations, and Infinite Rays are all just so amazing, pilgrimage was alright, but once Chris left it's just not been the same IMO. Don't get me wrong Al is still the man, and I could listen/watch him riff for hours on end. Just really prefer the first few releases. |

I'd tell your drummer to hit a lil harder though but that's just me. | I wish that our drummer would hit harder. That's my only complaint.

Thats a hard one. I think the Sword's best work to date was the first album, second was a let down for me. I have not been able to assimilate their latest work into the hierarchy just yet.
I tell you, I wish THIS band was still together. They are everything I wish the Sword was. Something about Swedish bands that just nail it. http://us.myspace.com/lowridertheband (check out Caravan)
The album Ode to lo ROCKED! But they slipped beneath the waves of time and are no more.
Bands like Mastadon and Tool are bands that I like, but as the albums progress, they start to sound the same, or get away from the thing that I loved about them. Mastadon's Remission and Leviathan were my favorites. I had a chance to see them very early on before the band was fully formed. It was awesome. Tool as well. I had a chance to see them in small clubs, but they kind of lost me a bit after Aenima. I still like both of those bands, but getting new albums of theirs is not a priority for me anymore.
I have gotten into more metal this year than I have in years past.

The first part was an instant fav from the first moment, but the second has the same effect with Advaitic Songs, gets better and better with every listen. Especially the last song is just killer after all the heavy riffage of the past 1+ hour... |

Guess it'll be good for networking and stuff. See what is going on in this area.
Also, my drummer spoke with the remaining members of Matterhorn. They are trying to get a bass player before they can start playing out... They are heavy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...v=OeslZmktZZE#!
These are the same guitar drummer from The Great Redneck Hope and Sawed Off. These guys are scene legends and before I started Still Valley, I had hopes of just joining them. Ironic, eh?
Anywho, looks like the scene here is waking up. Or I am waking up... (more likely)
