They're gonna arrive when I'm outta town getting tattooed, so I'll just have to wait patiently. Gotta love tax returns, though! I think I'll even be able to save up some dough and get a nice rickenfaker in January-February.
Gotta crash now though. Been awake 25 hours after four hours of sleep. Attended a funeral and had an 11 hours shift afterwards. Every part of my body aches.

They were just awesome and standing right at the front was something out of this world, not stupidly loud to require earplugs (which I absolutely hate), but still one of the loudest experiences I have ever had. It was like the mix was perfect, allowing the lows to be there without being just a rumble on the floor and just hearing the mids/highs. And it was relaxing as well for some reason, like a sonic massage or something
Not sure how better to describe it, but if you guys get a chance to see them (if you haven't already) make sure you don't miss it.
Oh and what they played from their new stuff was actually great. I must admit I hadn't listened a lot to their newer releases with them supposedly going to another direction (more stoner rock-ish with weird songs here and there) but at least what they played was solid. And the end was just mind blowing... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YvWmd2g3wKk
When the heavy part kicks in, it's unbelievably heavy live :O
Anyways, anyone has a suggestion for a cheap distortion pedal? Around 50$ would be great. Have a couple of things in mind but a more experienced opinion would be great! |

Cheap distortion pedals - maybe a used Rat? Otherwise Jet City has some nice OD/Dist pedals. Nothing specific for bass, though. Corey just bought some Joyo OD that he really likes. There's always the DOD 250 reissue, too. I'm planning to get one of those next payday. |

I'm sitting on the recliner, drinking a Labatt tall boy, being quite productive and making a good amount of money. If this isn't nice, I don't know what is. |

Yeah the DOD is what I am thinking as well, since used gear is not so easy to find here (damn you craiglist...)
I currently study/live in the UK so they are not touring the US atm |

Right now I'm powering my pedals with a single, regular power strip, and a couple sheisty adapters from radioshack. It's very noisy, and I usually end up getting the radio, especially if I have the wah plugged in.
I know there are a number of power supplies made specifically for pedals, but I'm not sure what the differences between them are and which would be a good choice.
If it helps, my pedals are a Boss TU-3 tuner, an EHX Big Muff (the silver/grey kind with the weird headphone jack type plug), a Morley Dual Bass Wah, and a Digitech Digiverb reverb pedal, all mounted to a medium size pedaltrain type board (don't remember the exact model).
The excess noise, especially the radio, is one of the reasons I hardly ever use my pedals. I still probably wouldn't use them that much, but like the option to use them, without the noise, if a section of a song called for their use, especially the wah.
Help? |

| | | | I use a 1-spot power supply. It was about $30? not the quietest thing ever, but noise isn't an issue. There are a few similar models from different brands, but you can't really go wrong with any of them. They do only 9v,and put out around 1000 Ma,so unles you have alot of pedals,or a really specific pedal, you'll be fine.
Dodgiest venue on Saturday night. The place was called 'IDGAFF' or 'I don't give a flying frank'.And that pretty much summed the place up.**** P.A,no foldbacks, tiny stage. The band room didn't even have a light.Smacked my head on a shelf a hundred times, and moving around all the gear was a challenge. When I went up to the bar to get a drink,I was expecting some sort of rider. Not quite, but apparently I got the performers $1 discount,so one beer only cost $7!
Normally I take my shoes before I play, but not at that place.

I tried using my guitarist's "godlyke" or whatever it's called, but it didn't work on the wah for some reason. No idea why. |

Pretty much the same as a 1Spot except I've got 3 18v outs which is needed for the Blowtorch. Plus I picked it up fairly cheap. I have a separate single 9V adaptor (ex-answering machine) that I use for the pedal that doesn't want to behave.
With the noise you got currently, isolated grounds is the best way to go - like PP2/variants, Cioks, etc.

Can you feel the music better being in direct contact with the stage? It'd have to be better, right?

Help? | I run a one spot. Some times digital pedals can be noisy if they're sharing a power source with several other pedals. |

There's other companies as well like T-Rex who make the Fuel Tank series. Those are the three most commonly seen isolated output power supplies, what isolated output means is that every output tap has its own ground, they do not share a common ground across the whole, so you are way less susceptible to ground loops which can cause hissing, static, noise, radio frequency pickup, and a slew of other problems commonly associated with "common ground" power supplies. For you I would probably recommend either a Voodoo Labs ISO5 (which has 4 9v output taps [including one high ma output tap, which is also usable as 12v] and one 18v output tap) or a T-Rex Fuel Tank Jr (which also has 5 output taps but are all 9v and of average mA output). The ISO5 will probably run you 30-40$ more than the Fuel Tank Jr but you get a heavy duty 3 prong power chord and alot more options as far as what you can power, plus if you all ready have a pedal train board they sell brackets to mount it directly beneath your board!
