Looks funny and that's pricey but I'd hit it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/vintage-elec...d8#ht_25wt_958 |

This is my work computer so I'm always worried that IT folk will block certain things.
Any thoughts? |

Any thoughts? | Wow, the whole browser shuts down? Most work filters redirect you to a page that makes it super apparent that you shouldnt be on this page and your traffic is being logged and flagged blah blah blah... but that sounds like a plugin or something is crashing your browser.
We're forced to use IE for work apps too but I do my personal browsing on Firefox. Managed to get someone in IT to install it for me while they were logged in as admin. I'm not able to install Flash on my machine, so Flash ads and videos don't work or crash... very well could be the website added a new advertisement or media that requires a plugin you dont have, and its crashing because of it.

It could be java. Java's been trying to update for weeks. I don't have access to install anything though |

Most jobs that base everything off IE take forever to do any updates for the reason that if they upgrade their java or flash or whatever it might break their other programs. My work tests the crap out of any updates before their sent to us. They actually just updated java about month ago and I've been having browser crashes ever since. It's maddening.
Edit: I just tried out the link... "Sorry, you need a Java-enabled browser to see the simulation. " Laz'd by internet explorer security man...

Flash is completely integrated into Chrome. If you are updating Flash, you're probably updating it for another browser you have installed. |

Everytime I go on a site that uses flash it says that my plugin is out of date. I get the choice to either update or run without updating.
If I push the update button it doesn't work so I always skip it.
I will update manually every once in a while.
Maybe we're talking about different things.
Edit: Well not everytime. But sometimes and enough for me to be annoyed. I'm not computer savvy though. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
