But I've been GAS'n for something with p90's, like this... http://www.rondomusic.com/al2000p90.html
or this... http://www.rondomusic.com/ad2300natwide.html | Agile makes some sweet guitars, I had an AL3000M that i liked more than any sub-standard gibson I've ever played. The fretboard was actual ebony, and it weighed as much as a LP SHOULD weigh.

I think people get a skewed perspective on them though because they're usually used for clean and bright tones through really clean or slightly crunchy amps, you can definitely get really heavy tones with single coil equipped guitars. I used to have a Tele that sounded monstrous with my old Sound City B120 and a Meathead. I used to have an Epiphone LP goldtop with P90s like that Agile that I used as well, influenced heavily by Greg Anderson using one in Goatsnake. I got rid of it, but in hindsight I wish I had just kept it and upgraded the pickups. That was about 4 years ago though and that was the last time I actually played guitar regularly until recently.
In other news, I bought another pedalboard. PT Mini and a One Spot, so I can dedicate my PT-2 to the forthcoming Dunwich Preamp setup and have a smaller alternate for using in Cold Mourning and guitar stuff. | Huh, interesting about the single coils. I had a Hamer strat copy for a while and I could never coax the tones that I like out of it. I blamed the single-coils but I'm sure there's a lot of other factors at play as well. Plus I've been playing a mid-70's korean LP forever so I guess I'm just used to the sound. |

A lot of my sound clips I've posted before that have guitar, that aren't in baritone tuningm, are my Strat. It's in Eb tuning though. I've been considering getting a new single coil equipped guitar from Carvin for B tuning, to pair with my LP, but it's not in the budget yet.

I have neck tone at like 1.5, and bridge wide open. But I only use the neck or middle pickups or both. I find it not full sounding enough, thin and trebly, do I need some buckers then?
Watching some Jimi at stockholm right now, to really see how its done.
And how can I please you people. geesh. |

It was pretty brutal and handled the downtuning really well. |

That and playing around with eq and pedal settings for 15min.
