I need to take a picture of my doom Tele. Its a G&L ASAT Classic, but I pulled the neck pickup, got in there with a dremel, and installed a SD mini humbucker in the neck spot. The humbucker is supposed to be a bridge lead pickup, sounds awesome in the top spot on the ASAT though. I didn't want to mess with the original bridge pickup, thats what Tele's are supposed to sound like.

Straight neck humbucker thru classic RAT thru a Peavey 15" bass combo =

The one and only pedal I built was an 80's rat clone. I called it TAR. Simple, but effective. Use it if you want.

Pretty sure Fulltone had a Zim card called the TAR for their rat variant, not sure if that will cause issues

I can totally see a rat (think NIHM) with a black robe on a la Sunn o))). Maybe glowing red eyes or something. Call it Black Rat or similar...

Or, don't

Thanks Ron!

Did you get any rehearsal time? For one band, our singer is coming from England and they said we would have some rehearsal time before the show. Not sure how that works.

I'm sure all will be revealed, but I always like to know as much as I can about anything in advance.

Any other Roadburn tips/advice?

Welcome! Most of us are bass players, there are a few guitarists hanging too. So yeah, I think most of us are either in a Stoner/Doom band or are trying to get one going. Or are so busy, there is no time for congregating outside of work/home/school.

If you are in a band, we need links and gear shots! Or just gear shots. Or maybe pics of Al's rig again!

Favorite bands... hard to narrow it down. Weedeater has got to be up there...
Goatsnake is total awesome
Red Giant was one of my faves.
High On Fire
Kyuss
The Sword
Black Pyramid
Monobrow not just because Sam is here. My favortie 3-piece instrumental group.
Low Gravity is a local who I really really like.

There are more, but thats a decent start.
Check record labels Meteor City and Small Stone. Just about everything on there, is awesome.

"The Templeton" would be another good one. That fat rat from Charlotte's web that can't stop eating.

"Grindatouille" for a play on words from that Ratatouille movie.

Or you could just call it Ben, or Commander Ben. That would be kind of funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ds-3H34Szz0

I like LAZ's idea of the ROUS (which I'm pronouncing like mouse with an R instead of an M), it rolls off the tongue well "The Dunwich Rous". I still think you need to name a pedal Horror though, and this seems like a good opportunity to possibly break that one out.
