Going to throw the flats back on the '74 tonight and might record a clip of my soloed p in my p/j just for reference. Thanks guys |

To be honest I wasn't sure why you posted them but hear's my thoughts:
#3 is what my p bass sounds like flat (no eq).
#2 & #1 is what my p bass sounds like throught the BDI21 for some tubey emulation.
To get #2 & #1 without a fancy pedal or an SVT, I would use an active Jazz bass or maybe a Musicman. |

I like the idea of the adjustable crossover and since I have the HPF Pre I am not overly concerned about it being a ported cab as I have a lot of control over the low end. |

He loves it. He is super into old metal like Maiden. Says it nails the Steve Harris. He is using a USA P bass into a M3 through the 2-12". He says it handles all the low end he throws at it. I can imagine the 4-12" being twice the cab
I have not played it. But, I trust his tone profile. If you have the scratch, do it. Mesa keeps value. Go used and if you flip, you don't lose anything. That is one thing about Mesa Boogie, They hold value fairly well.
