But my Ampeg B2R is acting up now...god I hate this thing.

Sorry if I'm preaching to the choir, but this is a quick setup guide: http://howto.wired.com/wiki/Set_Up_a_Turntable

I'm no guru, but I know a bit about turntable setup. I'm rocking my father in law's vintage Yamaha YP-211 TT with a Grado cartridge (I added some platter damping) and Yamaha "Natural Sound" phono pre, then out to my Harmon Kardon AVR247 amp/receiver powering Polk Monitor 50 speakers and Sub. Nothing crazy, but it sounds nice.
Good advice. I was going to say the same thing. You might need to add a bit of weight to arm/needle.

Good call! Just asked him and its a Stereo Jamman.

Btw that's him posting in here when you see negative theory. He's also a killer bassist.

Adam is a great drummer, but Blake Richardson and Mario Duplantier is some serious competition! Mario is one of my favorite drummers ever. Amazing to watch live.

My christmas present arrived today...

Ancestors - Neptune With Fire
Farflung - A Wound in Eternity
Kyuss - Blues for the Red Sun
Nightstalker - Superfreak
Red Fang S/T
Solace - A.D.
Sungrazer - Mirador
The Sword - Gods of the Earth
Weedeater - Jason... the Dragon

Too bad I gotta wait til Christmas

Tia Carrera - Cosmic Priestess came the other day, Gozu - Locust Season showed up today. Still waiting on Nighstalker - Dead Rock Commandos and Wo Fat - The Black Code.

God damn rabbit hole...

Agreed. There is stiff competition. But there are some duds on that list as well.

Vinnie and Phil need to suck it up and tour with Zakk Wylde.

Beebass used to use a 2000s. Think he sold it.

We did this when we played roadburn too, I ended up using a 500 watt Ashdown with an 8x10 for our saturday set, and a SVT-4pro with 2 8x10's for the sunday set. Worked out pretty well, wasn't my exact tone, but close enough for sure.

I'm not sure what the bass gear is currently, but I know a few cabs and amps will be involved, and worse comes to worse I'll rent a power amp and just use the B7K as my preamp. I'm currently restructuring my pedalboard as I downgraded, and then realized I missed my freqbox, so now it's back and I'm re-thinking a few things.
What and how do you use the freqbox?

This just showed up.

Plugging into the Mesa's poweramp and it gives it a whole new voice. it's like having two amps in one. with the TH acting as the pre it get a bit warmer and woolier in the mids. The EQ on it is great, very musical and responsive, i could easily use just the TH into FOH as a backup. it has a very amp-like OD and doesn't sound harsh as the highs roll of nicely when the AGS is engaged.

Nice and cost effective way of getting the Aggie tone.

Moog Freqbox. I use it with an spring loaded mission dual expression pedal hooked up to the frequency and mix control. So I can leave the freqbox on all the time and it doesn't effect my overall sound. But then when I step on the expression pedal I can make synth/oscillator swells. It almost sounds kind of like cliff Burton's power wah sound but super extreme.

I use it instead of feedback for a lot of parts, whenever we get noisy, and sometimes to transition between parts.

It's really more of an accent pedal for me (and the moog + expression takes up a lot of space) but we have had a few practices and a show since I took it off the board and I've decided I missed it and needed it back in the setup.

Cool, I had a MuRF for a short while but like you said I wound up using it more as an accent pedal, and returned it. Moog builds really awesome, really unique stuff but finding a musical use for them takes a bit of a leap of faith, especially since most demos of them don't really put them in context, or are really crappy drum machine stuff. I've been on the fence with the FreqBox and MuRF for awhile, maybe even the ring mod () but not sure if I want to take the plunge.
