Nice title! For some reason, it reminds me of the Metalocalypse when Toki was having a heart attack, and they had a defibulator, but didn't now to use it.

played a sweet gig on saturday. need to clean my bass though - spilled beer ALL over the fretboard during the set. you think flatwounds are easy to slide around on even when they're dry? try covered in sweat and beer.

i have also discovered, for dingy bar gigs, i need to sort out a light/lamp of some sort to illuminate my footswitches for easier stomping. any good clip on battery powered lamp things anyone knows about? i might have an old USB one lying around with a flexible neck, i'd just have to convert it to run off a 9v battery.

also getting sick of my curly-wurly vox cable unless i am on a really small stage. does anyone have any super-long reliable cable brand they recommend for bass -> board and board -> head?

Hey Niff,I just bought a duel goose neck LED lamp for my pedal board. I too was having a hell of a time making out my pedals in the dark. I bought mine thru Amazon for under 20 bucks. It was originally meant for orchestra pit/sheet music stands, but I stuck some velcro on it and hooked it to the edge of my pedal board. It works really well and runs off of 3 AAA batteries.

Or build your own.

On another note I found another 408, trying to not pull the trigger...

was it this one?

edit: wait just read you use a dual one, nevermind!

also you guys use mogami cables? man, that cost is hard to justify - at least here anyway. $90 for a 25 foot cable (silver) is pretty serious business, especially when i use $1 patch cables!

They're like $5 more than Monster and carry the same lifetime warranty. I've had them for years and never had one fail yet. Monster on the other hand I've had about a dozen of them die after a couple of months. Most of the sound guys I know swear by them.

There really isn't any sound quality gain to different cables as long as the ends are attached correctly. There in lies the problem, there CAN be quality issues with how those end hold up. If you can roll your own its the best way to get quality at a reasonable price.

I use an assortment of cables but when I buy new it's usually live wire.

Yep,I have the duel neck.
I`m not sure of the name brand but mine has the same style(including the clip base) of the mightybrite.

Yep. I've never noticed any sound difference between cables ( I think it's all BS) I would make my own if I had the time to sit down and do it. It really is the most cost effective way, also you can make whatever length you need.
