Keep trying to put the word out but don't want to sound desperate or anything. Going to make it to a few shows over the next couple months probably and give it a shot. Should have a call later about one band I messaged, hopefully that works out and I won't have to look any more .

Most of my lefty friends actually play righty to make things easier. BTW BUY THAT 408!!!! So I can buy it / trade for it from you.....

Deep inside I know I'll just go for it
Only piece of gear I really regret selling was my first pedal, a DS-1 I stole from a friend's acquaintance, but that's how karma works right? |

I'm also going to start writing for machete as soon as I come back from vacation. Going to put together some garage band drum loops and go to town. I'm sick of being a lazy bassist. |

A P with flats in e flat for cover band tunes with my dad, a Jazz in standard as a back up, and my main player a EBMM SR 5 HS. I love the way all my basses play, but I just keep going back to the utility of the 5 string. I do have my eyes set on one or two other basses, but my cab GAS is outweighing their acquisition right now.

| | DethByDoom | | Join Date: Sep 2012 Location: Houston,Tx | | | After buying the new tbird and bluebeard last month I ended up cleaning house. Got rid of an old carvin 5 string I haven't played since high school, pedals, some cables and random stuff. About five bills worth of stuff. I've pretty much decided 5 strings ain't for me. I'd rather down tune a four string.
Been on the fence about selling my mocking bird but I love that p/p sound. But. I rarely play it. My warlock is ridiculous. Uncomfortable, unwieldy, ****** sound, but immense sentimental value. Gotta have the acoustic for fire side music. The old Ibanez rg for home recording... yeah I could scale down but selling is a bigger hassle than make more room in the closet.
I would sell my sg bass if I got an Gibson rd assist bass, though. I'd probably sell the mockingbird if I came across a grabber or ripper.
2 guitars, acoustic and electric. 5 basses, four electric one acoustic. Two heads, two cabs. That's a modest hoard right?

I have three basses, 5 amps, one big cab, and two more smaller ones on the way. I would be happy owning a lot more if the funds were there.

I have 3 basses I use regularly
Gibson (bongripper)
Fender (cstvt)
Ric (home/consent)
Two cheapos previously mentioned
Yamaha (my first bass, loaned to a friend currently)
Washburn headless (strung with flats and occasionally played with a bow)
4 that my uncle and I made
5 string (I used to use in bongripper)
5 string fretless
4 string semi hollow
4 string semi hollow with trem bar, and built in delay
3 electric Guitars
80' Gibson LP
67' Gibson SG (was my dad's)
6 string my uncle and I built
2 Acoustics
91' Guild 12 string
6 string fender acoustic (was my grandfathers)
Sunn 1200s
GK 115BC combo
Berg 610 and 215
small vox ss combo (on loan to a friend)
empty hiwatt 4x12
I used to have around 50 pedals at any given moment. I'm down to about 20 now, but I only use 5 in bands....hence why I'm thinking of selling off the unused stuff.
As fas as stuff I used to own...way too much to remember or list (I tried to keep track in my profile, but I have mostly given up anymore). |

Ive never played anything with EMG that I liked the sound of. They all had a modern rock kinda mid scoop unnaturalness to them. There are certainly EMGs I havent played, but thats my experience.

My tone goals as of press time are a scooped clanky dirt with a lot of bite. Sort of like Rex Brown.
My dirt pedal can get there with a nice scooped bass or a scooped preamp after it. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
