It was really awesome, but I couldn't get used to the whole short scale thing. Ended up passing it on off to another friend for the same deal.
Tried out a couple of long scale EB-3's but didn't have the same vibe as the shorts-scale counterparts. Although it was good overall because I don't have the need to get another one since I now know its not quite for me.
But totally sweet basses, if there's a moral to my ramblings. |

For the next few months I'll be focusing on a lot of stuff outside of bass. Which means I have a lot of time to think about my next rig! |

I got told this while inebriated and nobody reminded me.
My phone went flat.
I got 17 missed calls when I turned my phone back on.
The studio is the opposite side of town.
Oh well, at least I listened and laughed myself out of the chair at the band trying not to swear and get grilled by the host on influences and gigs and none of them could answer a question! Hahahahaha!

What's cool is that he aims at the stoner/doom/sludge crowd so it's mainly OD/fuzz/boost with sometimes crazy modulation. There are several bands in France that have ordered effects, and he has done really really really cool things (I love his custom enclosures).
And since yesterday I'm dreaming of a custom effect. It would be something quite straightforward, probably a fuzz with a feedback control (in fact something like the Eau Claire Thunder), but I'm really interested in the custom enclosure. I would like something with the Green Matamp aesthetic with the name of my band on it in green (maybe green led to make it glow ) on a black background and big knobs. And green tolex around the pedal.
Just tell me it's a stupid idea, I don't have money to spend on this T_T

Thunderchild, Acme, fEARless, fEARful...
I am having expecially fond memories of having 2 Carvin BRX10.2 Neos (verticle of course) with a Genz Benz Shuttlemax 12.0. Just a fricking verstile rig, especially with a Sansamp BDDI in front
The there's Baer, Glasstone, Barefaced, Big E.
It's probably not going to be until graduation with my BA that I invest. So plenty of time to drooool |

At The Gates.
Man, I don't care who you are, this song kicks you right in the shorts. This was also one of the tracks on the Earache comp I got when I was like 15 or so.

Learning this song is one of the reasons i learned how to play guitar, and started experimenting with drop tunings.

I didn't even know where to start trying to figure it out. (played by ear) Figured out it was in B. Many years went by. As soon as I had the chance with a low B string, this was the first song I learned. So much fun to play and also what made me get into lower tunings as well.
From the same comp and no one has even talked about them, IRON MONKEY! These guys are awesome too. As soon as I heard it, I knew that this was what metal heads must "chill" too. Now, they keep coming up on my Spotify Doom radio station.

It would definitely give me that clanky drive sound I'm looking for.
The distortion I designed is sort of an all or nothing huge dirt sound. I'm thinking I need to experiment with some low gain drive designs.
Plus...I don't have $200 for a Bluesbreaker clone. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
