When I was 18 I made a transition from punk to Swedish Death Metal. In Flames and At The Gates were all I was playing when I picked up a bass at 19.

For $30? If that's all the space you need it looks pretty damn good to me.

Agreed. Before I talked my wife into blowing $150 on my Monkey Dream, I was highly considering a board from Rondo. Do it!

As long as you're sure you won't expand, it will work fine. Heck, for that price you can use two of them, I guess.

I have a couple of friends who have them. They protect pedals, but the carpet/pedal area is very flimsy and starts to come off after a few times of taking pedals on and off the board. Also the handle isn't the sturdiest thing in the world...however 3 pedals isn't putting a ton of weight on the board so that might not be an issue.

That being said, I tore out the original carpet/fuzz stuff out of one of my friend's board cleaned out any residue, and replaced it with real velcro and he hasn't had a problem since.

One last thing, the Lip around the board is a little tall, so if you have side mounted jacks, you need to keep your pedals far enough from the sides to allow room to plug the cable in, or use a riser or something to make the pedals sit high enough to clear the lip.

But for $30, it's the best hardcase pedalboard I know of.

Thought you were a "no pedals on the floor" guy?

Generally. My current set up is tuner and preamp on the head and then I keep switching between dirt pedals on the floor.

After my 100th time hooking everything up I wondered if I should just get a pedal board and be done with it.

I've considered Velcroing pedals to my head and maybe getting some sort of passive mute pedal on the floor for tuning and such.

I'm a set it and forget it kind of guy so I don't much care about having access to my pedals but somethings squeal and need to be killed quickly during quiet parts.

As soon as I had the chance with a low B string, this was the first song I learned. So much fun to play and also what made me get into lower tunings as well.

From the same comp and no one has even talked about them, IRON MONKEY! These guys are awesome too. As soon as I heard it, I knew that this was what metal heads must "chill" too. Now, they keep coming up on my Spotify Doom radio station.
That's weird I grew up listening to punk / crust and all my friends loved ATG it was one of the few metal bands they'd ask me to put on constantly. It has the raw punk energy but the anger and crunch of metal so they dug the **** out of it.

Why does that band name sound so familiar, guess its time to head over to youtube....

When I was 18 I was trying to combine the two, but none of my friends wanted to cross genres....

Back to that JHS pedal. Did any of y'all listen to the link I posted?

Any other pedals sound like that to you?

Ever play an Analogman King of Tone or an OG Bluesbreaker?

Speaking of genres.

I've been writing mellow stoner riffs on my sons toy acoustic and it has me wondering if any bands sound like that.

I guess it would be acoustic southern or blues stuff.

Ghost by Clutch is still one of my favorite songs. The acoustic guitar really adds something to it.

ATG cover by Fleshgod Apocalypse? Not bad, like the blast beast addition, but the drums were mixed way too high, and the voice is too generic for me.

Iron Monkey - I remember these guys from the comps, I was way more into Nu metal at the time to appreciate them though...

And speaking of Nu and old late 90's Metal Comps..... I used to love this band, kinda Sludgey but still very Nu....

Skinlab - Second Skin

Still keeping my eye out for a LTD Viper Baritone, not to play this kind of stuff though...

Hey Jeff, Listened to that JHS pedal demo. Honestly I feel like the OSD or something in that vein could get close to that tone. Also could probably get something similar and a bunch of other tones out of a GT2.
