So I listened to the ATMA mix critically while on my lunch break and I can see where he would hear a nasally tone. But I still stand steadfast and think its actually the bass. The nasally tone I hear comes from the center of the mix and the guitars are hard panned left and right, and when Mike goes to octave up chords and Aaron stay's on the octave down root notes it really pops out in the overdrive the bass is using. I didn't hear it anywhere near as much on UNL though. So it very well could be the ATMA mix, or maybe a gear change. Didn't Aaron use an EGC on ATMA and for most of their newer gigs?

I like Yawning Man, but I prefer Fatso Jetson when I am in the mood for some clean, reverberating telecaster tones.

Acid Bath is the sh*t. When the Kite String Pops is one of my favorite albums of all time. Front to back, it's awesome.

Droids attack and some other band I can't pronounce. Started with a "A" I swear it was the guitar player from bongzilla. And a drummer.

Well it will likely be a long time before this is passed, but at least a legalization bill is being proposed in Pennsylvania: http://blog.norml.org/2013/01/09/pen...nians-approve/

Madison hometown boys. Droids Attack is awesome and the other band you're thinking of is Aquilonian. 2 piece with Magma and PeeWee (muleboy) from Bongzilla. I was never that big in to Bongzilla but I really liked Aquilonian. Who knew that peewee could actually sing?

Unfortunately they're not doing anything and I doubt they will in the future.

Aquilonian? I remember that starting up when Bongzilla went on "hiatus", but never really heard anything after they posted a practice session jam track or something on myspace.

I think their only official release was the split with Sollubi. The track is on their Reverbnation page: http://www.reverbnation.com/aquilonian

It's funny I made a joke right when we got to the venue. "And hey, their is the guy from bongzilla". Funny how I was right all along. Geez. He was just hanging out like no big deal.

He's pretty easy to spot, being so short and covered with tattoos.

That guy has insane amp stacks. I don't know if all the pictures they had up of their practice space were just all the gear Bongzilla was using or what, but it was wall to wall Sunn, Sound City and Electric Amp stacks.

Thanks for reminding me of Fatso. It's been a while since I've listened to anything by them. It's exactly what I needed to hear.
Now I want to buy a harmonica. haha
Speaking of anybody play harmonica? Tough to learn at all?

I try to play harmonica, but then my dog just howls

So question, do you guys know how a company/person would sponsor a band?

I haven't heard them much, any particular albums you'd recommend?

I've been listening to Yawning Man's "Rock Formations" sporadically all morning and drinking 1/3 strength coffee. So I'm mellowwwwww.

You send the band money/gear/stuff they might need...? Usually their is some contractual agreement that the band use "XYZ" product or have the stickers on the gear or whatever they need to do to make the brand visible.

Did you mean how to get sponsored?

***you might get away with listing the sponsor on your interwebz sites.
