If you have homeowners or renters insurance, you can usually burn a CD with pictures and details of all of your possessions (along with sale receipts, price tags, order summaries, etc.) and give the whole CD of information to your insurance company and they keep it safe in your file. If you ever had to collect, all your possessions would be neatly documented and valued back to a specific date. One of those things on my never ending "to do" list haha I have too much stuff but at this point I really need to document it all.

Damn, so we are playing with more of a blues band this time. This will probably be the weirdest show I have ever played. So it's us, Heavy stoner/psych stuff that you guys already know about... Rhogog from in town is like a Death Doom/crust style band. Kinda like Amebix rubbed in keef. The final band to confirm is more or less a blues band. Maybe not some delta blues, but bluesy for sure. Ashen Embers from Denver. They got an upright player and most of the songs I have heard by them are like softer style blues. Like indie blues, maybe??? Not the blues I am used to hearing when someone says blues music to me. (remember, I am from Florida. Where bluesmen go to retire, lol) Seriously though, I have seen some good blues music, and I am not talking about Pride and Joy either... I'm talking about those grimey vocals too. Anyways, these guys are not that, but they have some skills for sure.

Guitar player's wife made flyer but I can't post it due to nudity. The art is a Boris fantasy image of a barbarian looking dude about to stab some subhuman looking beast man in the head. And of course, there is a topless girl that the subhuman creature is trying to get, and the barbarian guy is protecting. I'll put it on the facebook page when I can.

Hate to autoquote, but it kinda went unnoticed and I highly value your opinion so here goes

The soundcloud link only plays the first jam but there are 7 tracks total !

Haha just had an epicly awesome idea... well at least I think. What if we started a social network of people with houses large enough to host bands and create an underground rock/metal house party scene? Have guidlines and rules, people who want to do security, and you have to make friends for entrance to the shows. It'd help stick it to the pay to play venues and get a lot of great music out there for people. Hmmm...

I'm sure they're already doing this somewhere.

Got the second practice of a new stoner/doom project coming up this week. Means I can finally hear my Ric through an amp for the first time this year. VT Bass + headphones just doesn't quite cut it, although it's the only way to avoid my neighbours murdering me.

Getting to the stage where I want to book myself into the practice studio alone and just fiddle with tones, but can see that getting pretty expensive at £10 an hour...

Sounds like the warehouse / loft scene here.

No man should have to play into headphones. Loud amps saves lives.

I like that, I want one of those stickers.

Don't have a lot of time to check out all of these, but I am really liking your guys vibe. Excellent bass tone too, what are you using?

Do any of you guys personally know that Serpent Throne band you recommended for Philly? Try to cold contact them and never got a response.

One day I'll have a house in the country with a little family of cats and bass amps.

Nope. But Wizard Eye played SHoD XIII. Didn't someone here play this past year with them?

Maybe drop TB's band name with SHoD and be like, yo you guys are cool. Want to play a show?

Thanks !

On the first jam it's the T40 with nearly dead strings into a warwick ss head and ampeg 610.
The rest is done with the rick (with really fresh strings ) into a old trace elliot ss head and a 18"+10" cab (except for the "new song" where it's a small 100 w ampeg rocketbass combo cranked :/).

I've got a VT bass as an always on pedal, most of the extra distortion was done with an aguilar agro on these recordings (don't remember if I had brought the bass big muff for these).

Ok yeah, it was the Ric I was hearing. Thought it might be a jazz. Has a really really nice low end grind to it. It's a similar tone I aim for, except mine is more wooly/fuzzed. Nice job!

Morning, coffee is killer...
That being said I did not totally catch up on the end of the last thread however I do have the following to contribute.
Cables:
I got at really good deal on like 3 planet waves kits from someone who upgraded. So I had been using them primarily for patching. When instances have dictated, I have picked up some pancake ended mogamis and a george L. On the most recent board incarnation I used all my mogami's and fillid in the gaps with the planet waves I had left. I rely on a 10' & 20' George L for running into my amp, and I have a Lava Coil that I like to run from my bass. I love coil cables, because they don't tangle on my feet but the lava is crazy overpriced, luckily I have a friend who got one and the right angle jack wouldn't fit into his strat.\

Also, just learned Ben Verellen's brother was in Botch?!

Heck yeah he is!

I knew of the player before I knew the amp maker.

I mentioned them before but for cables I really like Digiflex and Yorkville. Never had any issues with them and they last forever. some of mine are more than 10 years old now. I use George L's on my board.

Pickup for my white p bass should be here today. Happy to get that back and running. I think I'm getting sick. Figures right before my vacation. Has anyone in here tried the newer fender flats? I think I'm going to get a set for the white p bass. I want something similar in tone to my roto's but a little less stiff. Word it they are a bit brighter the chrome's which sound like they might e the ticket. Looking to see if anyone has tried them.

Another vote for Planet Waves. The American Stage line is what I use currently.

Although, I've used bottom-of-the-barrel ProCo stuff for years and never had a single issue. So if you're going to go cheap, that's the way to go.

Laz,

Hit me up here or on Facebook and I can put you in contact with some folks around here (Philly) you might contact to set up a show.
