Well fellas, I'm taking off to Anaheim for Winter Namm 2013. Not a minute too soon, as the high temperature is 5 degrees today. Won't have much time to check in, but I fully expect three new threads by the time I get back in a week.

I just signed up for it with my email. I distinctly remember when people first started mentioning it here though, I tried to sign up and couldn't because you could only sign up with a Facebook account.

What is a decent brand 6ca7?
I need to retube the VB-2 soon. Then I need to change out the preamp stuff too. Might as well...

Nice, they must have just recently changed it. It's an awesome service. Definitely worth the $10/month for premium.

JJ makes one. I like them a lot. Used in both the new DA120 and the Stonehenge. EHX also makes one but no experience.

Cool. Thanks.
I have 12ax7's in the preamp. And a 12at7. I'll have to get some decent ones of those too. Do these make a huge difference in tone? Because the OD channel sucks.

Laz, are you a Crimson fan, or is that your first taste of them?

I'd highly recommend getting Red, too. One of my favorite albums of all time.

Like 7 years ago I downloaded their whole discography. 21st Century Schizoid Man is one of my favorite songs ever. Unfortunately the rest of that album just sounds kinda like the Beatles... haha. What more stuff is like 21st Century? With the breakdowns (that song basically invented death metal breakdowns), insane walking bass lines, synchronized horn sections, and just heavy as hell riffs. I honestly never got much further. Every time I listened to another song I didn't really like it and just put 21st Century back on.

Also, Lark's Tongues in Aspic. If you've ever seen that SNL skit where Will Ferrel plays Satan, you'll recognize the first song.
