Any of yall know of some bands that play Stars of the Lid type of stuff. It can have a beat. I need some chill slow moving atmosphere.

I'll try any brand of anything.
How about some Mogwai, Sigur Ros, maybe some Johnny Greenwood soundtrack stuff, and if you dig a beat it is hard to beat Tortoise or Jaga Jazzist

first 6 sabbath albums are pure gold (with Vol 4 being my least favorite). sabatoge and SBS are both awesome records.

ozzys last two are pretty awful (Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die) but theres a few decent songs on them.

anything post ozzy is unlistenable IMO but thats just me.

Pretty much my traditional opinion on Sabbath as well, but I like the Dio stuff now as of the last few years.

NY Daily News is my source of daily liberal-biased media tripe, its about an even spread between world events, crazy New Yorkers doing dumb sh*t, and pictures of hot celebrities on beach vacations.

I swear, I'm the only dude I know that LOVES Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die.

And Volume 4 is probably my favorite. Nothing recorded before or since sounds like that or has that vibe. Very strange, intense album.

May I suggest Godspeed! You Black Emperor as well? I was lucky enough to see both Mogwai and Godspeed!(not at the same time) and they`re similar. When I went to the GSYBE show I was blown away. Those dudes are masters of crafting and controlling feedback.

Question on vertically stacking cabs. If you've got a vertical 212, or 215 or whatever, how do you ensure stability? How do you compensate for light-weight cabs that can put out big noise? Any worries about tipping themselves over? Would clamps holding the two cabinets together help? Are indents for legs or skid rails enough to keep them together?

I've been thinking about doing a JohnK style build of a 215, but then I realized that a vertical 212 might be more my speed (ie, fit in my car with the proper aesthetics I wanted to add) and would make a vertical stack possible. So, anyone have experience with vertical stacks and any engineering issues I should keep my eyes out for?

Well the JohnK 215 is small enough to vertically stack two of them...

When I ran my two 2x12 BassBombs I just set them on top of each other. I think each cab was about 50 lbs or so. The feet of the top cab just rested on the top of the bottom cab.

I didn't gig with the SVT on top though, always stuck it on my guitarist's cab.
