All these reports of them being in the Shop more then in your drive way is highly accurate, I see atleast 5-10 of them a week throught he shop and they all have something stupid wrong with them. It's either electrical, or the seal on the sunroof is leaking (on a 2011 model ***?), or its only got 36k miles but we need to do a complete trans and dif flush on it, and the list goes on. Oh also breaks will run you around 6-800$ per axle just for parts.
Run away from a LR, run as fast as you can. Also stay away from Dodge / Chrysler mini-vans. Definitely go Japanese or Korean, like a Honda Odyssey or a Kia Sedona (my mother in law has a Sedona and its freaking awesome and can fit 7 comfortably, plus they are like half the price of a LR) Quote:

Joe mentioned Mazda. I love my 2008 Mazda 3 Hatchback to death. Only issue I had with it was how it performed in the snow, but after manning up and buying the best tires available, it's a tank in poor weather. My gf just had a CX-5 as a rental car and said it was awesome. The CX-7 is the 7 seater option, might want to check it out.
I guess if you find the right minivan it's not so bad. Who cares what other people think, they are convenient. Growing up my mom had a Chevy Venture. It was a piece of ****. Handled like crap. I'd look into what Honda is offering in terms of minivans if you go that route. |

Listen to this man, get the van........ | I was looking used more than anything else, trying to stay under $15k. The only other real contender is a Honda Pilot, in my mind.

We get a few of those a week too and the most we usually do is an oil change and a brake job (I work in used car reconditioning for resale, and see over 200 cars a week on average through the shop), they are small on the outside but big on the inside, get great gas mileage, and have a proven bullet proof honda drivetrain with easy to find and relatively inexpensive replacement parts (especially in comparison to a LR).

I got that Lp to, and after my first listen I was somewhat underwhelmed for the overall price / package. I mean really, No insert, nothing on the back of the jacket, a piece of paper glued to teh front of the sleeve, and decent sound quality... I know it's a limited run, but really. That being said, I listened to it for a 3rd time yesterday and loved it. Maybe I had it at the right volume, maybe the tubes in my player were good and warm IDK.. Give it a few more listens see if the same happens....
I hope the earthless 7" is a little better! Quote:

The interiors are absolute pieces of under designed plastic junk that breaks when you look at it, the motors tend to give out at around 120k, and half the time they discontinue parts after only 2 or 3 years. But you are right they do handle and drive pretty nice.

I really have no plan to get a, mini van. I just can't do it.

Don't think I'll be listening to it too much. Oh well, **** happens.
That Ric looks great. Just a couple years old than mine. Best test will be to just go try it out and see how you like it! That's about what I paid for my rare color '85, so good price too. |

You have a ton of kids and it would be smart for you to get an appropriate car. No person worth knowing would fault you for have a responsible car. |
Yeah....

In my mind it negates the purpose of having the seats. Putting a car seat back there is a pain in the a$$. Unless all your kids are small and will remain so, 95% of those 7 seaters are bullsh!t.

I'll mull it over maybe I'll call him later after I get some work done... Part of me actually feels like it may be best to discuss this one with the wife so I can proceed guilt free...
I also just had someone offer me a SS/BS polygrace for my EAR Gristleizer. They only made 20 Polygraces... has anyone ever tinkered with one of these? There isn't a lot of discussion out there, and I don't feel like web-video ever really does glitchy fuzzes justice. |
