I've been coming up with jack sh*t for band names for weeks. Now I've got like 10 ideas. Once the bad ideas start flowing...

So along with all the small rig talk, what are some DOOM worthy headphone amps? I like to do a lot of my practicing late late at night.

How do those VOX things handle distortion/fuzz/downtuning? I'd rather not use one of those iPod hook ups, I want an actual amp. Its either something like that or the GK MB200 has caught my eye as a small practice amp for my 115 and headphone amp.

I just use a Pocket Pod for headphone stuff. No experience with anything else like this, but it gets the job done.

I like these. I guess it depends on what your sound lends itself to. I like to not pigeonhole myself too much... so that would leave Mongo or Gnomes and Mother Hog.

I use one of those Vox headphone amps. I really like it for being a little 30 dollar plastic thing. It has 3 dials on it,tone, volume and gain. You can get some alright sounding headphone fuzz goodness out of it when you crank the gain.

A lot of times I just stick the Vox right into the last pedal on my board and use all my effects just like it was running into my stack. So I`d say that in general the little headphone amp handles effects and down tuning just fine.

I think there`s 3 or 4 different models,including a bass amp. I think mine might be the Vox AC130?

Pigmeat.
I like all the redneck innuendos possible with that one.

Hog Mother could work too. Are gender swapped Discworld references Doom cool?

re-did some demos last night, sounds pretty good, likely go for another run on them soon.

going to record a ~20 minute set and a ~7 minute set analog live direct to cassette and get some all-analog lathe cut vinyl done, 7" and 12" and we are hoping to split with another band if they record using the same method. we may be interested in doing an international split 7" with someone later, once i have some demos more indicative of what we actually sound like i would be keen to throw them up here and see if one of you guys wanted to do one..

Pigmeat is the best of the bunch imo. I had a name going through my head for the past few days.... "Belieber Kill Squad".

Got my taxes done! I claim 2 exemptions as a single person with no dependents so Uncle Sam doesn't get a big interest free loan from me. All in all I'm getting back around $420 (haha) which will make paying the remaining balance on my EGC less painful
