I think the Fender/Sunn 1200s is a fantastic recommendation and is right up your alley. |

while not impossible, i seriously doubt abyone would ever be able to push an 8 KT-88 amp into it's sweet spot. I struggle with being too loud with just 4 KT88s. Unless you're want to go with a very clean tone, then yeah 8 KT-88s would probably get the job done |

I'm lovin the tonal upgrade of using the fEARful stack instead of another 2x15, theres alot more useable high-end cutting through the mix so my Grey Stache gets more love and more of my grit is heard amongst my guitarist's wall of sound. The whole stack still pumps super heavy lows, I feel like I have the same low end I had running 4x15's but with the addition of more useable highs. My envelope filter and wah sound super gnarly as well, cutting while again losing no low end. The only limiting factor in the rig is the Acoustic amp, not for power but just in clean headroom. Theres some sections of songs that I get kind of mushy due to the amp's natural breakup at the volume we're playing at. Makin me GAS now for a high-powered 2 ohm amp... any suggestions besides the standard power amp rig? | Hartke LH1000 would be decent for two ohms.
Older Peavey. Max 700 or Firebass 700.
Carvin newer B series. B2000 is a big chunk of power
Just a few 2 ohm capable heads

Sorry skip! | Your not the only one..... It's what I get for playing drums, keys/synths, guitar, and bass. I view myself more as a "musician" and less of a bass or guitar player. Regardless I love my 4xkt88's.
It's all good buddy!

I had a tryout yesterday and everything went pretty well though I think the guys are still pretty gun shy from their last bassist... so i dunno. They wouldn't give me an answer and I wasn't trying to be overly desperate. Things are kinda up in the air anyway with recent events... might be time to lay low for a while and just practice. They got a kick out of my pedal board and my bluebeard/el combo.
I know there's a ton of threads on this but... any suggestions on an inexpensive yet good sounding rackmount preamp to run a power amp? So far I'm thinking of a Sansamp RBI or BBE Bmax. It has to take pedals well and if the xlr sounds good bonus. Planning new amp purchase in a few months, was originally thinking of a hartke lh1000 or craigslist deal but now I'm considering preamp/power amp setups.
