I'm a huge V fan, but all the vintage Gibsons are $2500+. My EGC is the only thing stopping me from impulse buying this haha.

Laz there is a, 70's I think, Gibson V at a local guitar shop by me. I played it with the point in between my legs, actually pretty comfortable, it forces correct left hand postioning. It sounded pretty nice, and the neck was a bat. $1800 if I remember correctly.

I'm always up for a trip to the northwoods. I'll talk to the guys in the band and see what they think. It might take some prodding to get guitar guy to jam though. We don't jam. Which is too bad, because the two or three times I made it happen were ****ing awesome.

Yeah, we'd better get crackin'. I think we'd be fully capable of playing the doom set, then jamming for an hour or two.

Tony, you wouldn't need to bring your rig, we basically use the same setup.

Found this in The All-Time Most Awesome Rigs of All Time thread...

Metal Matt: For a Literally Bone-Crushing Rig (If it Fell On You).

I give you: NEANDERWALLTM. Avert your eyes!

Errybody talks about putting together a bunch of cabs and amps and just crushing. Or at least I do. But this is the largest rig I am aware of that is regularly used at gigs (i.e., toted around) by an amateur TBer. And that deserves recognition.

And, IIRC, it used to be even bigger! 1

Now, as TBers we all know that, on paper, what with the mismatched speaker sizes and misaligned drivers and comb filtering and whatnot, NEANDERWALLTM should be just a little less loud than a grasshopper farting. And so this rig also deserves props for smashing the laws of physics, because in action it seems pretty doomy/ear bleedy to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTt95-A6up8

And still I suspect none of this does NEANDERWALLTM justice.

Grats, dude!

1 That's what she said.

Who is this NEANDERWALL? This rig is DOOM, PERIOD.

Edit: correction. there are a couple people in Northern NY, Michigan and Ohio that are probably closer.
