Worst practice in a long time. The 370 into a 2x15 was garbage. Very, very unhappy with my tone. On the plus side, my guitarist doesn't like the Musket and I'm thinking of picking it up from him.
I'll take that 370 off your hands.

Also I heard from the guy from Firehouse I'm just waiting on the other guys in the band to see if we can do it.

Why do I torture myself? I need an unlimited amount of cash so I can buy everything cool I see on Craigslist. Like this:

EDIT: Hmm...I just offered up my ATK500 in trade.

Those things are heavy as hell. The other bass player has one. They're ok I'm not a huge fan of them ( but I'm also so used to playing Ric's)

I'm texting with the guy now. He says Ibanez are his favorite so that's a good sign. He has 4 different models. No ATK so I think I may have piqued his interest.

Yeah, I'm pretty confident that I'd dig it. Saw one I action at the Sword show. The bassist for Gypsy Hawk had one and it sounded killer.

Wow,I week off doomland and you guys are through to part 40!

I saw Earthless last week, truly blew me away.Seeing them live made me realize how much their drummer and bass player contribute to the band.In the space of one and half hours, they played 3 songs.Talked to the guitarist Isaiah Mitchell after the gig, shook his hand, told him he was god, etc.Picked up an L.P and this groovey red Australian tour 7".

Also got accepted into the North Melbourne Institute of TAFE to do an Advanced Diploma of Music. To top it off,I got $40 Christmas money from the grandparents, just as I was on my way to a record store!

I recorded a head to head demo with the Joyo and the OCD. Going out for froyo with the wife real quick. I'll post the file and a quick overview when I get back in a bit.

Here's the Joyo Ultimate Drive vs Fulltone OCD demo, as promised. Signal chain and settings are noted in the description and comments. I go through most of the useable sweep of both pedals, though not EVERY setting. It gives you at least an idea of how they compare.

My quick observations on the pedals:

The Joyo has a bit more volume on tap, at the very least it has more volume boost earlier in the knob sweep, than the OCD. It also has a bit more gain saturation, but the gain has a more compressed quality to it. The OCD stays a little more "transparent" with the gain as it saturates. I don't like that term much, but in general the notes are a little more clear and the gain is more open and touch sensitive. The Joyo has more low end boost to it, regardless of the Tone setting, but it also has a shorter usable sweep in the Tone control than the OCD. The Joyo also sounds more muddy in the lows and the treble sounds more fizzy, compared to the OCD. The OCD certainly isn't lacking in low end (you can always adjust the EQ on the amp, obviously), but it boosts the low end less than the Joyo and gets brighter quicker in the Tone knob sweep. The Joyo doesn't have a huge gain change between noon and full, the OCD seems a little more linear in how the gain saturates as it sweeps. I find the sweep on both the Gain and Tone knobs to be more useable, linear and flexible with the OCD. The Joyo is a lot more touchy about settings and the big gain and tonal changes occur very quickly in the knob sweep. So it's a lot more difficult to fine tune tones with the Joyo than the OCD.

They're slightly different versions of the same sound. Which sounds "better" depends on your taste. Some of the perceived differences may just be due to direct comparison of settings, as they don't really react the same up and down the sweep of the knobs compared to each other. Minimum and maximum settings reveal more of a true tonal comparison, in my opinion. I also picked my favorite "sweet spot" setting for each pedal and noted the settings. They turned out to be very similar sounds, but very different knob settings.

I plan on keeping the OCD, I like the nature of the gain and the tonal sweep a little better, but the Joyo is a good sounding pedal. I found the OCD a bit more versatile, flexible and more clear sounding.

Well ended up staying home tonight. Ordered my el oso should get here sometime after the holidays weeee. Considering buying the deluxe bass muff due to the active/passive switch and low/high pass filters unless someone wants to talk me out of it. Still on the waiting list for a bluebeard... I want my sterling ray to sound nice though and I don't want to mod it like toast lol =/. It's a combination of the attenuation and 5k cutoff... I think I can get both fixed with the dbbm.

Also I would be guilty of having the doom room standard edition pedal board.

That's a pretty good trade for both ends. In Maryland I'd go to Atomic Music almost every weekend and play this burgundy T-40 with a ruler straight neck strung with chromes. It was so awesome but I never had the cash to pick it up. If you don't mind the weight they are super cool.

I rocked an active ATK700 for a long time.

Show was pretty good. Probably the best we've ever played. Had the one guitar signal split to an amp angled next to the drummer. Didn't miss a beat. Tone was really gnarly with my adjusted settings on the Terror Bass. Driving in the snow sucks.

In other news, trying to lay groundwork for my next project. Some kind of metal. Here's hoping.
