Righto. So I've got no job and no money coming in for the next while, but have some funds in the bank to tide me over and have some spare money. I think I'm gunna need to buy something to prevent a manic moment of impulse buying something I can't afford. Mental state hasn't been excellent after losing my job and just think there's going to be a stupid weak moment my brain isn't operating properly and I'll be broke and stupid very quickly.
Here's the plan. Buy a pedal kit or get parts to build something in a fortnight's time to tide me over until I'm working again. Plus by building, it'll use the spare time fairly well. Greater sense of accomplishment/achievement. (If it works)
After letting my mind go for a moment (under influence and watching Ministry DVD at the same time) any of you peoples recommend any particular kits over others? Probably going to stick with distortion/fuzz of some kind.
Thanks in advance.

I`d love to have a StarFire but I`ve never come across one while I had the cash. I ended up with a 70`s Lyle hollowbody to help with the urges. It looks really similar to that Uinvox bass that ampegfuzz posted.
Checked out that T-40 last night and offered up my ATK in trade. The guy liked the ATK, but he wasn't interested in trading right now. Can't blame the dude. He had soooo many badass basses that I would have liked to go home with. He had an Elektra SG copy that just oozed soul. That was probably my favorite. I hung out in the guys' mancave for a couple hours talking bass and trying out 12-15 of his axes. It was pretty badass. The guy seriously had like 50 guitars in his basement.
Using paid version of tapatalk... no difference here .
Slapped a black pickguard instead of the white one on my pbass. looks like it belonged there. Black knobs too.
Was going through the wreckage of my last band. Here was my favorite. Notice the guitar player playing out of time and screwing us all up in the middle, lol. It got better, but oh well.
Mine are for sure. Toastfuzz sounded suuuuper gnarly with my rig tonight.

Jason thanks for comin out man. That Dually cab really doesn't let you f*** up at all, theres no covering your mistakes with fuzz with that thing... thanks Laz again for letting me use it. Thought the first show went super good, and Supervoid brought the house down to close the night. The middle band was a cool more relaxed rock style, reminded me of Our Lady Peace and was a good interlude between my band and Laz's. All in all a f*ckin good night!!!

Just got off the phone, tryout this Thursday for a band. The guy says he's done some sludge and doom and wants to play heavy stuff and they're still writing. Said they sound kind of like lamb of god or 36 crazyfists and they want to play shows by March. Fingers crossed.
Haha that's really true about the Dually. Even slip half a fret over and everyone will hear it. Being very present in the mix as a bassist can be a double edged sword, but I enjoy the attention!
